I think Sabastian High did a good job but I felt he was trying to be more positive than maybe what the reality is. In the end he gave the Flyers a B draft grade and a B prospect pool grade, but noted there is no high top line or top D talent in the system except Michkov, a lot of middle 6 and bottom 6 forwards and mid level defenseman. I am really hoping Jett Luchanko pops in his +1 year, otherwise Briere is going to hear it loud and clear from the fan base for passing on Buium.

You keep posting about Luchanko's D+1 year. He was drafted at 17 years old. It will have nothing to do with how the fan base ultimately judges the pick. How both turn out as NHL players will.

Danny B gets a B+ grade on Boomer's (Sirius/XM NHL radio) GM report card. The same guy gave the Penwhines Kyle Dubas a D- for his grade. Boomer is usually pretty tough on those report cards, so I'm a bit baffled here. It's actually quite comical how so many folks on here thought that the rebuild would continue once Michkov said that he was coming over this summer. People really think this team is gonna tank with their new shiny toy in the fold. Shame on you!!

But it’s a terrible contract that probably won’t age well. They have 3 talented young centers that need to play now. Francis will regret it.

yes dime a dozen. had good 4th line, great where did the team finish again? refresh my memory. 1st one in years just shows the incompetence of this franchise.

Cant exit any rebuild when you really never started. No 4th line players should be a part of any rebuild. So in 2026 when RP will need a new contract I guess he will get the Laughton 5 year special. Wash rinse repeat.

wonder what a Seeler and RP package at last deadline would have returned? Both on cheap as can be contacts. Maybe add a 3rd what does that get the flyers back? Forward thinking organizations would explore that route.

I started seeing this sentiment in Flyers articles last week. I see it has taken root. This is why the Flyers don't have to do a legitimate rebuild. All they have to do is proclaim it and it is so.

Michkov hasn't played a game and fans have visions of prime Ovechkin in year 1 dancing in their eyes. On the flip side, CG is a guaranteed bust.

Who does a 1-2 year rebuild while also only getting rid of only what, 4-5 guys? 2 the coach couldn't stand, 1 who asked out, 1 who declined, and maybe one for the future? 4 out of 5 happen no matter what.

The Flyers goal in the "rebuild" was to sell tix and merch. Mission accomplished.

The Flyers have a plehtora of middling forwards and defenseman in their prospect pool, but no projected 1C or 1D. Unfortunately the only way to get a 1C or 1D is via the draft, since teams are not going to trade you these players, and picking 13th or higher is not going to get it done. My hope is Jett is truly just scratching the surface, but right now that is a lot of hope on one 17 year old player. Bonk will be a good defenseman but will he be a true 1D, most likely not. So having a lot of picks is great, but if a team is not drafting in the top 5 or even the top 3 in some drafts, they are not rebuilding, they are stagnating. Chicago, San Jose, Anaheim, they are rebuilding by drafting potential elite players that they can build around for years to come. That is how you do it.

I have no issues to fix, but then again there appears to be a lot of that going around on here. The Flyers were never going to tank when Michkov decided to show up early. It's laughable that folks think that they are gonna do that with Michkov here. It's a rebuild on the fly folks!! Catch lightning in a bottle and the Flyers are your Stanley Cup champions in 2027-28! No, it doesn't suck. Everyone makes an occasional mistake. That's normal. What's not normal is when someone is wrong virtually every single day and refuses to learn. That's you and that's what sucks. You are however correct in saying that it's a coincidence if your take is in any way similar to mine. As I'm normally on the right side of things and you're normally wrong and clueless.

If I sound like the stalker at all, its completely a coincidence I assure you. Unfortunately this is all I can conclude at the moment I am sorry to say. We know from looking at teams that legitimately contend for a cup that those teams all have legitimate 1C, 1D and top lines. The Flyers don't have any of this currently but what is most disheartening to me is there does not seem to be a path where they can get a legitmate 1C and 1D. Maybe Luchanko turns into that player, as I fan I certainly hope so. Maybe Bonk has another phenominal season and his skills translate into an NHL 1D, as a fan I certainly hope so. But hope is not a plan. Sure teams can get lucky in the draft, and that is purely what it is LUCK, and get a real 1C and 1D with a later pick, but the odds tell us the top players are drafted at the top of the draft; Crosby, Stamkos, Tavares, McKinnon, Ekblad, McDavid, Matthews, Hughes, Bedard to name a few. I don't want the Flyers to tank, but the fact is if a team wants the best chance at an elite player, they need to draft high. Realistically, unless the Flyers trade more veterans this season, they will finish about where they finished last year, and that is just not going to get it done IMO.
