Because Young players get better. You can only improve so much in the AHL. Kimmo Timonen didnt play a full NHL until he was 25 years old. You can only get better playing against better player. Are guys like Attard and Ginning likely to be great NHL players? No but you dont know what they are until you throw them to the wolves. Konecny went from a 28 point rookie season to pretty much a 70 point season in 7 years.

Veteran D have a use on rebuilding teams but you also need the room to test players. Flyers have enough veterans on D. Players can look to Sanheim, Ristolainen and EJ for guidence. You dont need a guy like Seeler if you arent trying to win a cup which the Flyers arent doing. At best Flyers just want some guys to get playoff experience. Which I believe this team will get this season.

Isles wont make it. Im not sold on WSH and CAR took a pretty big hit to their team. Rangers are the only sure playoff team in the Metro. NJ likely assuming Markstrom is the missing piece in net. At 34 years old I dont know.

Atlantic is going to be the same 4 teams as last season BOS, TOR, FLA and TBL. Detroit I dont see as better, OTT got better in goal, got worse everywhere else. CBJ and MTL will be at the bottom of the league again. PIT probably worse than last year. Buffalo could be a Wild card this year.

It is likely going to be the same as last season where teams will be battling for the 3rd spot in the Metro and the final WC spot.

It is a deep draft so I would like PHI to miss but I think they make it this season.

Yea doesnt seem as bad. Hockey players run hot and unfortunately make dumb choices when frustrated. Doesnt make it it acceptable though. Im still in shock that Trouba could baseball swing at a guys head and all that gets is a fine. Absolutely ridiculous.
