If they want a longer look then they need to be better than (frank)ing Seeler. And they are not. EJ hopefully sits and is an insurance policy. Trade Risto, there’s your spot to battle for. Not hand out roster spots simply because they are young. It was explained to you they are trying to win. If there was a York level player sitting in the A in favor of a Seeler or Risto then I’d agree with you. There is not.

If it was a strip it bare rebuild, sure throw those kids in the NHL (so that later you can cry they ruined the kids!)

They are trying to win and build simultaneously. This is what you don’t understand or at least don’t agree with. You don’t throw all those kids in if you’re trying to win. As we have established, they are trying to win. So that’s not going to happen.

We don’t have 6 old dudes playing D. Plenty of youth on the backend as it is. Ones that are actually NHL players. The others do get a good look already. In the AHL. They are 24 and 25 and haven’t exactly blown anyone away. Maybe they are just AHL defensemen.

They are looking at these guys much closer than you are though. But sure let’s go with your idea 😂

Seeler and Walker was arguably our best pair for stretches of the season. Walker fell off a cliff in the playoffs. Maybe Seeler is just good in his role. He’s only 30 and plays a tougher game than any of our current dmen. Good to have a player like that no matter what the team is.
