Glad to hear Sam going out still on top. Really going to miss him, but Kenny or Don will be welcome.
Sam and JD have been there since I became a Rangers fan and it was crushing when JD left, even my wife was bummed. Hasn't been the same with Skippy (Joe) but he's not bad. Can't believe he's been here almost 20 years.
Yes to raising a mic to the rafters and looking forward to seeing the big guy at the retirement.

I’m almost positive Don is a lifelong islanders fan, and his wife is the big Rangers fan. He’s done a good job despite that, but it has the be Kenny. The man bleeds blue and probably the best in the business.

Hoping for a great final season for Sam, what a legend.

LOL no, I definitely have the right person. Stuttering Tom trying to make fun of a legendary sports announcer. The irony
- NYR11

You absolutely do not. I can confidently say you and I do not know each other at all. Unless this is a "Basic instinct/Fatal Attraction" situation on your part. Which is either flattering or terribly frightening.

You are absolutely right. We don't know each other. Never met (thank God). But I know people who have known you for a long time. I'll post the screenshots for everyone to see, too if you would like. I know you have a terrible stuttering problem. I also know you were made fun of relentlessly for it

Deny till you die.....but it doesn't change the fact that its true

I don’t know who fits this description but someone a bit younger would be refreshing. Kenny is great and I’d be happy with him but MSG needs some youth infused into the broadcast in my humble opinion

Kenny is the obvious choice. He deserves it. I don't disagree that a youth wave is needed. Do you know any young-ish announcers that could be a good fit?

How dare you give you opinion!!

Me personally, young or old, as long as they are a good announcer that isn't crazy biased and/or boring as F.
Watching games in other markets and hearing the announcers for some teams is just torture.

McDavid for Zib and Kakko. One to ponder 🤔

Happy retirement to you Sam! I know most of you grew up with Sam and JD, but for us older fans there was a time that home games were only on radio. Unless they were on a national broadcast carried on CBS—yes, CBS with Dan Kelly, we listened on radio. And it was Marv—-“he shoots, he scores”—“kick save and a beauty”—Albert. I would love to see Kenny get the gig—-brings me back to my childhood in the middle to late 60’s!

The Rangers would have to retain at least 6% of Kakko's deal though

Back in my day we had to go down to the local ice cream parlor and pay a nickel to listen to big di ck pennywhistle call the games on the town radio

DeAngelo talking about the Georgiev incident. I had no idea Georgiev headbutted him and Tony whacked him with his stick. I could've sworn I read somewhere that Kreider punched Tony

That was all speculation as Kreider came out to the podium with what looked like a bruised hand he was trying to hide. It may have happened but I think ADA is smart enough to not bring that to the public. It would make him look even worse if one of the leaders really needed to slug a player in the room to end an incident

Yeah, that's a good point. Tony probably omitted that part with intent as to not make it sound even worse

Another Flyers fan here to pay tribute to Sam Rosen. Great announcer for the Rangers for such a long time. A couple times over the years, I heard Mr. Rosen doing radio PBP for a national feed of playoff games, and he even called a huge OT GW goal for the Flyers back in 2004.

Love hearing stories about Sam from other teams. It really gives us Ranger fans an appreciation for him. We've been blessed with great announcers since I've been alive. I couldn't imagine having someone like Jack Edwards calling games night in and night out
