So, according to JFresh's card Glass was in around the 100% percentile for ES defense the season before last?

14 goals/35 points in 72 games averaging less than 15 mins the season before last all while being that good defensively?

He's pretty much a point per game player in the AHL.

Only 25 years old.

Sure, he hasnt lived up to 6th overall, and probably never will, but he could be solid for the Pens this season, yet.

I like the Glass trade. I feel like people have discussed him as a potential trade target in the past. He is still young. Has some defensive skill. I am a bit interested in what the lines are going to look like. Especially the bottom 6.

Beauvillier - Crosby - Rust
Bunting - Malkin - Rakell
DOC - Hayes - Glass
Eller - Lizotte - Acciari
Puljujarvi

Pettersson - Karlsson
Grzelcyk - Letang
Graves - St. Ivany

DOC maybe gets swapped with Beau. Maybe Eller or Acciari gets traded for picks prior to the season? Maybe Dubas makes another trade.

I feel bad for Puustinen I think he gets sent down or traded prior to the season.

I don't really like Puustinen, but I do think they should have left a couple spots open for younger players to compete for. Add in Aho who is a capable bottom pair defenseman that can play either side, and Sully doesn't have to play any of the younger guys.

Should be seeing more trades. Pens have 51 contracts with a limit of 50. Someone told me 52 but I checked puckpedia. Anyway something gotta happen.
- Aaron_85

Pens have 4 contracts that will slide, so not an immediate issue.

Glass came off a bad year, but before that he was a solid enough player. If he bounces back and we get that version he'll be a solid upgrade. Nice situation since they paid us to take him.

Dubas brings crap players in thinking he'll get value for them? Should have asked the core if they wanted out? By the looks of what dubas brought in. The core should be begging to be traded. 1 core player seems to be thinking extremely hard about signing again. I would also.

Glass at least has potential if he can stay healthy. I think this was a great trade. Gave away not other than a co tract spot to keep it the same. Got picks and someone with upside and on last year of contract.

But added $1.64M to the cap ($2.5M if you don't subtract Frasca's cap hit).

Pretty safe bet Frasca wasn't on their radar. Someone else loses a spot though.

Glass has had one good season where he topped out as a 3C on a bad Nashville team. Again, we got paid to take him. That’s a win. But this feels like a Nylander situation where there probably isn’t much to get excited about

In his last 2 full years, he's had one decent season and one pretty abysmal one. If he can find a happy medium between the two, he'll be a decent bottom-6 player (albeit an overpaid one).

I'm hardly excited, but I do think we're a bad team, especially on the bottom six. So I think he can rebound, help out, and then probably just get flipped for another pick.

Realistically Sullivan finds his lineup, sticks with it outside of injuries. Pens add a veteran 7th d at the deadline.

I still look for them to trade eller (or acciari) at some point as there are 6-7 centers on this roster now. But with these moves, the pens now have 9 draft picks in each of the next 3 years. In 2026 and 2027 they have two 2nd round picks and have held on to their 1st round selections.

If he’s allowed to play recklessly I’d take him, as long as Dubas secures trades for Sid and Letang to destinations of their choosing so they can continue to play for wins and not some false sense of legacy.
