I am not sure of the ranking for mediocre. I will be stunned in the Flyers are in the top 24 in powerplay efficiency. Bottom quarter of the league again this year unless MM is a magician.
- mickel25

Yup, they don’t have the guys to do it. 25th at best is my vote. All the D they tried couldn’t help, is Drysdale going to take a big leap, stay healthy, and produce? Not willing to bet on that either.

You have a reading comprehension issue. His first statement was " I dont think its a talent issue". Followed up by the opening sentence of the second paragraph of " I think it is JUST a coaching issue"

My post clearly alluded to it being both a talent and a coaching issue

Get your act together PT

Yes, Concrete Cranium, and he said NOTHING (today at least) that contradicts the 2 statements quoted and those 2 statements are not inherently contradictory.

Anytime someone intelligent (at least by the standards of this board), comes along and starts saying interesting stuff, what does our resident retard, (whose last original post was composed and then deleted in 2009) do? Nitpick, and that too, on grounds of misunderstanding and incomprehension.

What makes you special, MJL, is not so much that you are so painfully slow on the uptake. It is not your fault. What makes you special is the reasons you employ to excuse yourself.

What’s mediocre, 20th overall? 22nd?
- ClaudeFather

Re-read my post. I gave the metric that I thought would give them a mediocre PP versus the horrendously bad PP they had last season.

Always pace, never results around here
- ClaudeFather

So Pace is only OK when Konecny shows it? 40 points in 50 games is not results?

This isnt like Farabee produced a high rate for a small amount of time. He was at 0.80 ppg from Oct to Jan 27th. He had a poor 3 months and when you look at the team almost everybody struggled at the end so it is clearly not an isolated issue with him

I think Tippett was the only guy who didnt really drop off. His production every month was pretty stable. Mostly between. 0.57 and 0.66 ppg. Only exemptions were January and March when he jumped up to 0.80 ppg and 0.87 ppg

OCT: 0.66 ppg
NOV: 0.57 ppg
DEC: 0.62 ppg
JAN: 0.80 ppg
FEB: 0.60 ppg
MAR: 0.87 ppg
APR: 0.57 ppg

TK PpG last year, and 68 points this year. Don’t have to look at pace, just the season totals bud. Keep it moving

You lack the self awareness, like a typical far left liberal nutcase, to realize that what you're doing is exactly what you're accusing me of. You're nitpicking. My response was clearly to indicate that it is both a talent and a coaching issue. The first thing in my reply is that it needed context. I'm aware that you are incapable of actually figuring out what I was saying there. It was beyond you and you simply couldn't comprehend that.

There are no insults that you can post that will change your reality. You are an unintelligent, indoctrinated and brainwashed nutcase that has been fully exposed for what you are. Mostly by me which makes me the target of your attempted vitriol. So bitter that you will never achieve the status that you so desperately crave. It eats at you and tears you up from the inside. Seek therapy.

There is nothing that makes you special as you are a member of a group that festers like rats in a sewer.

Drysdale doesnt need to take a big leap. The one year he was healthy in ANH. He had 12 Powerplay points and 32 points and that was his rookie season. Only played 24 games the season before that. Health and Defensive play are the main concerns with Drysdale. Even when he played last season he wasnt healthy. Guy played through a Sports Hernia because he had missed too much time already.

All I need to see from Drysdale next season is 70-82 games played, some improvements to his defensive game and 30-40 points. He doesnt need to be an elite Dman overnight. He is just 22 years old.

Same here. The lack of logic and common sense that some have. If for example, you want erroneously post how much Ristolainen has improved. You can do that until the cows come home and it's not a problem. However if you accurately post the reality of the player and of the team. We'll, you're just miserable. Some.people are just idiots

Saying he is mediocre is fine. saying it over and over every day for a year, or maybe more than a year, is ................

Man, looks to me like he’s got you pounding away at those keys, ferociously 😆

Also… what status are you referring to? Hockeybuzz status? His “standing” here? The best part is you believe that’s a thing because it’s what you’re desperate for 😆

I guess if you can’t get any standing anywhere else with real people, ya gotta find it on a message board 😂

You’re talking about the player alone, I’m talking about how the flyers achieve a better PP. He would need to be healthy and steady his game for that to happen.

I typically do not write on boards; I am a bit too busy with life. But I do spend time reading Bill’s post almost religiously and I do read through the comments. Bill Thank You for all you do! It is great to see your unbiased opinion and facts. Let me preface this by saying I am a Flyers fan, have been since almost the beginning, I’ve never played hockey other than a few pickup games in the 70s with my older brother (2am at some rink in Delaware I think). I have never played professional or college sports, as most fans haven’t. I am only a fan! I am looking for a new hobby so I figured maybe I would give this a try. (I think I’m a glutton for punishment). But anyway, you guys really crack me up! This is a list of the Top 20 Wingers in a league of 32 teams. Our team, we follow, has a player on this list. Some teams have two, but about half the teams have none. This is a GOOD THING! we should be happy about.

So? 11 points more on a team with Giroux, Voracek, Healthy Couturier, JVR while he was still productive and Kevin Hayes who was having a career year.

Sorry but not really comparable to a guy whos playing with Couturier with a Sports Hernia, Top line Ryan Poehling, Scott Laughton and Mr. Inconsistency(Frost).

The most hysterical thing is that those who actually use that, have no clue about who has played and who hasn't.
- MJL

With you, it’s obvious you’ve never played. You’re watching YouTube videos to understand drills, breakouts, zone entries and positioning. From your old pal Marty St. Louis 😂

It’s also obvious you’ve never sniffed a locker room because intangibles mean nothing and your understanding of players is akin to a boy with trading cards. Its the only way you can feel involved in a sport you can’t play.

I like how you said you’ve “learned a lot about hockey” from various posters here over the years. Not experience, just people who are more knowledgeable than you.

And then you turn around and tell others they don’t know anything about the sport of hockey. It’s entertaining to watch you on a daily basis - there has to be chapters in psychology books about you.

But your lazy, repetitive “comebacks” you provide on a daily basis are really the icing on your completely unimaginative, uninformed cake that is, in fact, your desperate playbook.

Fraud I think is the word im looking for

Like you, I think there is more to Farabee as a player. However, Konecny has been more consistent as a player. It's fair to look at the reasons for that. For one, Konecny has played more seasons so there is more of a sample. Farabee has a serious injury that affected him. That can't be an excuse for what happened last season though. Like you alluded to, he produced at a high level through a significant amount of games. Then fell off a cliff. That can't happen and he needs to fix that. He was one of the top scoring LW's in the NHL for a significant period last year, which shows his talent and skill level. He's not at Konecny's level yet and he needs to prove that he can be by keeping that production level up for a full season and do it over multiple seasons.

That echo chamber bans anyone who doesn’t want to be as miserable as them. Thats why you fit right in! But, positivity - amirite? I’ll pop my head in and read just for the entertainment of reading grown men whine whenever anything happens with the team. It’s hilarious and I’m glad you all have each other!

But please continue to visit Bill’s blog and attack him because he works for the team. I’m sure he loves that.

Also - BS’ing online is your only real connection? You mean, like, to people? Ya don’t say!

He is actually on his alternate account here. He had to change his screen name to try and avoid the embarrassment of being labeled a fool by Bill Meltzer. He then lied about it along with lying about having a relative who works for the team and having inside info. Yet never offers a single tad of intelligence on the team or in anything else. He claims that he is going to be the online police to correct those that are "lame". LOL Like I said, some are just best ignored for the fools that they are.
