He is actually on his alternate account here. He had to change his screen name to try and avoid the embarrassment of being labeled a fool by Bill Meltzer. He then lied about it along with lying about having a relative who works for the team and having inside info. Yet never offers a single tad of intelligence on the team or in anything else. He claims that he is going to be the online police to correct those that are "lame". LOL Like I said, some are just best ignored for the fools that they are. - MJL
I know this eats you up inside š
Iām sorry that this blog is as close as youāll ever get to the team. I can tell it makes you frustrated.
The best part is you know him by name. I also know youāre a big fan since youāve said as much in past posts. I love that. So much.
Iām happy to be the Chet Hanks to your Tom Hanks š
You lack the self awareness, like a typical far left liberal nutcase, to realize that what you're doing is exactly what you're accusing me of. You're nitpicking. My response was clearly to indicate that it is both a talent and a coaching issue. The first thing in my reply is that it needed context. I'm aware that you are incapable of actually figuring out what I was saying there. It was beyond you and you simply couldn't comprehend that.
- MJL
I am glad you think it is a talent and a coaching issue. I am also glad of your opinions, whatever they are, about women's hemlines this summer and the delay in the Tesla truck. Because the last 2 have as much relevance to his post as your 'response'
His post doesn't require context. Get this into your thick fat head: he is saying that the coaching staff has not strategically adapted to change of specific talent and personnel. He is not saying that a pp requires high end talent. Quite the contrary.
The logical thing at this point would have been to ask him what sort of changes he envisions for us, so we can have a thought provoking discussion that breaks some desperately needed new ground.
I have a great memory of meeting Roger Neilson at a New Yearās party before he died.
Sweet sweet man. A legend. Still have the picture.
Another is walking down the players only tunnel to the after party immediately after the winter classic against NY. It was just me and my family and we just happened to be walking in at the same time as Briere. This was maybe an hour after he didnāt score on Henrik on that penalty shot. I just remember it being real awkward because what do you say to a guy who had the game on his stick and didnāt bury it? I think I said something along the lines of āgreat game, man that was closeā and he solemnly said āyeah I wish it couldāve gone betterā
Will never forget that
Giroux wore a salmon colored vest. Pops asked if I wanted to meet him and I said nah, Iām good š
The thing is with MJLā¦ he desperately doesnāt want to believe what I say is true. It might hurt his āstandingā here š
Truth is I moved a lot - I grew up in various junior and minor league buildings all over this country from a very early age. Hockey literally dictated my life for many years. I got to see first hand how many teams operate from behind the scenes. Thats not including the decades my dad has been apart of the org. Iāve played since I was 4. In my teens I ran shops, sharpened skates, drove Zamboni, built rinks, been sent to CCM headquarters for work. Itās my life and has continued to be a HUGE part of my life. I play to this day weekly. I love being at the rink. Iāve played at a level that got me a hockeydb page (not a big deal).
MJL has studied the CBA and watched some YouTube videos. So when he tells me what Iām watching on the ice or that experiences Iāve had never happened heās really just projecting his insecurities.
I remember I told you he traveled with the team and there was a very obvious rift between Giroux and Hayes. Cliques that wouldnāt even sit with each other and it was very awkward to those around it. Hayes was taking TK and Farabee down a sh!tty path, hoping for a boys club with Yandle and trying to pursue Johnny Hockey, his former college teammate. MJL stomps his feet and says not true! Huffs and puffs because someone actually might be closer to the team than him - who gets to watch from a comfortable distance. The TV lol
Well guess what happened? The first thing torts said was there were serious issues in the locker room and one of the first guys to go was Hayes. Hmm where thereās smoke thereās fire.
Bottom line: you donāt get to tell anyone here what they are watching. Especially me. So go (frank) yourself
EDIT: also why didnāt we sign Johnny Hockey? Folks close to the situation were warned about giving a guy who may or may not have a nose for candy a $10m contract. Smart move.
And Mike Richards was arguably one of the sh!ttiest dudes the org has ever seen, regardless if he was good or not.
Lmao. Was waiting for this to resurface. To be fair, everyone is at a different point in their financial journey and has different goals and risk tolerances.
I typically do not write on boards; I am a bit too busy with life. But I do spend time reading Billās post almost religiously and I do read through the comments. Bill Thank You for all you do! It is great to see your unbiased opinion and facts. Let me preface this by saying I am a Flyers fan, have been since almost the beginning, Iāve never played hockey other than a few pickup games in the 70s with my older brother (2am at some rink in Delaware I think). I have never played professional or college sports, as most fans havenāt. I am only a fan! I am looking for a new hobby so I figured maybe I would give this a try. (I think Iām a glutton for punishment). But anyway, you guys really crack me up! This is a list of the Top 20 Wingers in a league of 32 teams. Our team, we follow, has a player on this list. Some teams have two, but about half the teams have none. This is a GOOD THING! we should be happy about. - crazy8s

bravo my favorite post ever. tells his life story to others on the internet and calls other peeps losers. is this post a cry for help?
wow a HD page, probably played in a pay to play poopty junior league. probably the little flyers. did they have cuts that year? very impressive.

But noooo. - PT21
You're completely clueless PT. LOL. I did not state or imply that he said that a PP requires high end talent. Get that through your thick fat head, you idiot. His post absolutely requires context simply because he is wrong about it not being a talent issue and JUST a coaching issue. It is fair to say that the Flyers don't have the talent to have a top PP but have the talent to have a better PP than they did and to put some of that on coaching. That's where the context is needed. It is not a complete absence of talent but instead about the level of talent that the team possesses. Which contributes to the lack of PP success. It is not JUST a coaching issue. It is both and it is absolutely relevant to his post. Especially when he is making follow up posts about players such as Farabee and how he can be as good as Konecny. I did not at any point refute his point that the coaching staff did not do a good job. In fact I'm on record on many posts and in direct reply to him that the coaches have not done a good job and that the Flyers coaching staff as a whole, is terrible on coaching in the offensive zone. There are numerous facets to his post and I can reply to which aspects of it that I see fit. If you don't like it, I don't give a fiddlers (frank). You've all of a sudden have found some time in your busy day. That's how obsessed you are.
You're a jackass PT and you always will be. I'm never going to apologize for being smarter than you are or for exposing you for who and what you are. You can never change that.

Drysdale doesnt need to take a big leap. The one year he was healthy in ANH. He had 12 Powerplay points and 32 points and that was his rookie season. Only played 24 games the season before that. Health and Defensive play are the main concerns with Drysdale. Even when he played last season he wasnt healthy. Guy played through a Sports Hernia because he had missed too much time already.
All I need to see from Drysdale next season is 70-82 games played, some improvements to his defensive game and 30-40 points. He doesnt need to be an elite Dman overnight. He is just 22 years old. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Not to be to flippant but Dorothy isn't in Kansas anymore. He's being coached on the PP by Rocky and Rocky's results have been historically bad. He's got to deal with Rocky and other players coached by Rocky. You put York on the Ducks PP and maybe he looks a lot better.
Regarding playing through the sports hernia, that's one of the responsibilities of the coach, to be the adult in the room and to make decisions on player long term health/safety. The Flyers don't have that. What Drysdale wanted should be irrelevant. You have a debilitating injury in a rebuilding year of all things, player health has to be a priority. It wasn't with Coots being run into the ground or Dry playing through the hernia. Were either the best choice in the long run? No, but it did benefit Torts which is all that really matters i guess.
Players that play through injury and excel are labeled as warriors, players that play through injury longterm but don't excel get traded.
It's not like it helped the "injury prone" label while playing through injury. In addition he picked up what, 1 or 2 other injuries while playing through the hernia?
I agree on him being just a young player but it looks like Torts is trying to change just about everything about his game.
"I think he's a work in progress, I think he has a lot to learn," Tortorella said. "I think he has a lot to learn about positioning, time and space. He hasn't played a lot, he has been banged up. For the past couple of years, he has been hurt. ... Anaheim played a man-on-man defense and he's trying to figure out how we're playing with our zone coverage."

Torts also said he wants him to be a rover and not a traditional ādefensemanā which would play to Drysdaleās strengths. Rounding out a young players overall defensive game and learning their system is not āchanging just about everything about his gameā
Your post here needs some context. You can't on one hand say it's not a talent issue and then say they don't have a player to run the PP through, such as Giroux. It is certainly in part a talent issue.

You know the part above where you say "you can't?" As though he is contradicting himself?
He can, and he isn't. Because the two statements you quoted reinforce his point.

Did you play the hockey that go you in hockeydb in the US or Canada? Just curious. Seems a general enough question that should not threaten your identity, but if so, just ignore.
I find it very entertaining that it's gotten to the point that you have been so obviously exposed, that you're no longer even attempting to hide that you're an obnoxious douche bag. It's very funny. - MJL

Did you miss that quote? - anti-lame
Nope. The "rover" quote was right after the trade. The quote i posted was from a month later after he'd played several games. Have you heard Torts talking about him being a rover lately? I haven't. Rounding out his game? Yea, if you call what he did to Risto rounding out Risto's game.
TDA wasn't that long ago when he was the big offensive dman acquisition and Torts talked him up to. You want that Torts quote from after he benched him for 5 games and decided to play shorthanded rather than put him on the ice? Torts changed opinions after seeing him close up. The next offensive dman that the Flyers trade for that Torts evaluates properly will be his first.
His Drysdale quote isn't that far off of his TDA quote. Torts loves everyone until he has to coach them.
You know the part above where you say "you can't?" As though he is contradicting himself?

Your arrogance knows no bounds. You allow yourself to call out a "part" while not allowing others to do so. Again, the part that I called out is that the Flyers PP issue is both a talent issue and a coaching issue. Not JUST a coaching issue as the poster stated. My point is relevant. I did not misunderstand anything. You are a petulant child with a mental deficiency . The very fact that you aren't debating the actual points I made, is the giveaway. You're never going to get what you want. Nor are you ever going to be able to repair your reputation. Which you readily reveal that you know that because you're acting like a bigger douche bag than normal and not even attempting to be cordial anymore. Go pound sand. You are low hanging fruit. As far as the dance, it was a cordial conversation until you showed up. Have some self awareness.
Well to be fair itās always good the see PTās take so when your on the opposite spectrum you know your right and can feel better about things. - bird_dog_pa

Pre season in the NFL is hard to watch.
Eagles are toast if Kenny Pickett has to play this year.
James Bradberry is as bad at safety as he is at CB.
Nakobe Dean has been disappointing.
Nolan Smith does not look like a 1rst round pick.
Positives ?
Shipley, Mitchell and Coveyā¦.but Christ pre season is hard to watchā¦lol
