Always a chance, but extremely unlikely. And rebound to what? A slightly less sh!tty player? Edmonton is a good team that can’t afford to give this guy many opportunities. I imagine he hits waivers before Christmas
- CanuckDon

I know it's obvious but it's rare to see a Canuck fan actually state it.

The Oilers have dozens of tweeners like him in their system, chances are better than good he gets cut out of training camp and someone else needing a fringe NHL forward for insurance picks him up on waivers.

No chance he rebounds under Knoblauch and a different system/structure?
- ScotlandVonRickens

No chance, Lordy, none. He was a garbage with potential as an AHL bottom 6 role player.
Enjoy wing night.

Your fellow oilers fans are delusional about Podkolzins value. The kid will break out and could be a star! It’s all tocchets fault! Yes, it’s probably the top coach in the leagues fault. Podkolzin has failed in 6 different coaches but I’m sure Knobby will fix him

Podkolzin will be back in Russia by 2026 or 2027, the kid just doesn't have what it takes to be an NHL regular. What he offers can easily be found for free in a scrap pile.

Good kid, but, just like Vancouver Island, the roster is full...there isn't a spot for him.

Ya, but we gave up a 3rd for him, and only got a 4th for Podz. So Kravstov still had more NHL potential.

No we didn’t - it was a 7th round pick

And Will Lockwood who was a 3rd round pick, I believe?

Dhaliwal...

- No timetable on when Demko is going to be 100% healthy

- Canucks have been worried about Demko's rehab since the NHL draft

- Rehab not progressing as fast as some would like

- Radio silence when Dhaliwal asks if Demko has had surgery

- Canucks poking around goalie market

Should we make a push for Askarov? Kid has tons of potential

I'm sure Nashville isn't too eager to move him to VAN.

Lockwood was to open up a contract slot. No value

His numbers aren’t great but perhaps there are mitigating factors. I don’t watch AHL hockey. Interesting and it could make some sense if come to the conclusion that Demko will never be capable of putting in a starters workload. Wouldn’t be surprised if they add a vet and Demko starts on regular IR.

Personally, I think we need to assume Demko isn’t a long term solution

Yes, I fully agree, it's really a whole bunch do to about nothing. Just more wasted Jim Benning picks, at the end of the day.

If out all season I’d guess 15-20pts potentially lost. Don’t see Silovs ready for 50+ games but never know. More like 30ish. Either way the PK & PP are still the immediate focus. Those alone win & lose games.

Rutherford suggested Demko needs to stop practicing so hard. In any case he's a UFA in 2 years, he needs to get back into form if he wants to get paid.

Change up his routine sounds reasonable. Take a load off of the wear & tear. Going to see a vet G added by the feel of things.
