We could actually have 2 solid PP units, neither with Armia!

maybe that will put a little bit of pressure on Caufield. here's one who needs to step up his game this year, like Suzuki did last year.

I'm not too worried about Cole.

In a season where almost everyone felt he could have done more, he still put up 28 goals and 65 points.

Shoulder will have healed even more too.

He's gonna do great.

I'm not worried at all, kids progress in a non-linear way. Suzuki and Slaf last year took a big step, who will it be this year?

I say Ylonen

lol

We basically swapped him for Barre-Boulet since he landed in Tampa.

My guess is neither player will do much.

J'espère qu'il serait pas un boulet pour l'organisation

While that line did really well last year, they need to adjust after Slaf became a real option as the season progressed.

No longer just Suz to CC for a shot on goal... CC getting less looks, so he will have to put himself in a position to score or make the play to someone else (which he started to do at the end of the season).

I think we will see that in the upcoming season, and combined with an actual second line, that will open up more opportunities for them.

Barron + primeau + 2nd for askarov or whatever his name

- WaterBoy

HuGo will negotiate this so the trade would be for something like this

Primeau and Barron for AssKarov and a 2nd (Tampa)

This.

If HuGo can get something decent now for Barron…do it and free up a roster spot

- WaterBoy

off course, but i dont think so as the value is currently low

For sure.

Trading Harris already solves part of the problem on the left side. I think Hutson will begin the season in Montreal.

Habs have weak depth on the right side, I say they keep him for this year and give him a chance to improve and gain experience.

There's something about Askarov that we don't know.

With his level of talent, it makes almost no sense for the Preds not to bet on him being their goaltender of the future.

It makes no sense to shop him around for the past two years (they offered him for the Habs 5th overall pick in 2023).

He's extremely good. One of the best young goaltender out there... he's big, he's quick, he's the total package.

So what's up with him? What kind of bumhole is he?

wouldn't be surprised to see Reinbacher start the season in MTL tbh. he's the most complete RD kid they have coming up imo.

I see him gaining experience in Laval for a few months, I see his arrival (if not due to injuries) when Savard joins the Leafs for the playoffs run at the TDL

Yes. It could. And I get they are in "win now" mode.

But just like how Tampa slowly gave the reins from Bishop to Vasilevsky, it felt like the natural move to use that 7M elsewhere when you have the option.

If there's nothing wrong with Askarov, I guess the Preds are just extremely greedy in what they are asking for.
