My wife can't ad an ad blocker to her work laptop, for instance. They don't even let her re-arrange her start bar in Windows 11.

I was lucky that I was given certain admin permissions on my PC about 20 years ago and when they took it away from everyone (including my manager for a brief period), they just missed me in the shuffle.

You need ads to generate revenue and I get that, but you can't hypocritically install a word filter that stops you from saying simple words like 'Richard' and pops up full-on porn ads. I hate to point this out but those things usually go together. They've definitely lost the ability to call this site 'family friendly' with that type of advertising.

If I was surfing HB at work, I'd use mobile Brave or Firefox browser on my phone. Both have good ad-blockers available. Brave is bundled in by default, so no need to install a seperate plug-in for it. Brave's blocker even works on YouTube. It's glorious.

It's possible that Ek doesn't know how bad the problem is with the porn ads and popups. He might have agreed to some banner ad system without knowing fully what ads the company would serve up on his behalf. He *should* know, but maybe he doesn't. Maybe somebody should take a few screenshots and send them to him.

The porn, the pop-ups, and re-directs are definitely costing him more money than they make. Potential subscribers are scared off before they ever get a chance to get familiar with the site. They just get a big pair of tits put in their face with 20 pop-ups for Viagra and they close the browser tab and move on.

We're only looking at stuff like cackles per 60, but I heard the Democrats have stuff like heatmaps of where she's laughed, and an analysis of who she's laughed the most with.

My work pushed out ublock origins to our work machines but they also give us full local admin right to it.
