In crazy news there was a murder/suicide across from my parents house this morning. 5 people. Their ring camera caught the final bit of it, as it ended on the front lawn. The guy would yell at us as kids.

Thought day 1 of potty training my kid was gonna be the wildest poop I experienced today

Saw an interview on TV with “a neighbor from across the street”. Your mom?

The moron, I mean "maven" at the Hockey News has a hilarious article warning Rempe on who he fights this year. Here's a sample:
Matt Rempe must think he's tough.

After all, The Skating Giraffe just spent his hard-earned – well, sometimes – money on what, in the long run, could be his downfall.

The Remper, who gets more attention for doing nothing than anyone since the puck went from square to round, now has a Master's Degree In fighting. (Well, sort of.)

He earned (Ha!) that this summer by taking a week's worth of "boxing" lessons from Georges Laraque, who deserved a Phi Beta Kappa in Elementary Goonery for his fistic-filled career.

When is this hack gonna retire already? He's been spewing anti-Rangers BS like this for at least 40 years. I remember seeing him on Sports Channel in the early 80's and it was always the same crap. I can't believe he's still alive. Not going to be missed when he's gone.

Rempe has never showboated after a fight. Has talked about respecting others and how cognizant he is how difficult a job this is. Ridiculous

Gun show?
- picklerick

NYS still requires background checks and everything at gun shows.

There was likely already a firearm in that house somewhere, whether it was his or not

I’m not touching that debate with a 100 ft pole but it’s easy enough to drive out of state if you really wanted to. Either way it doesn’t matter here. He had one somehow

He definitely could have, I just wonder if a 60 year old that has issues severe enough that he needed to live at home with his mom really has the means and the capacity to drive out of state to a gun show to purchase one. Just seems likely to me that there was already one somewhere in the house that wasn't well secured.

And no one can say he hasn't earned anything. In his role, he has earned widespread respect from many around the league. The value is there because he is earning it.

The "maven" is a short-sighted, blinders on joke that serves himself only for click-bait garbage writing.

Definitely agree with you on that, we need stricter gun control laws.

That sounded more like Stan trying to impress people that he can remember 60yrs ago. Terrible article. Im sure Rempe knows the pitfalls and dangers of being a fighter in this league, its been well documented. He has since then concentrated on playing the game more than fighting. You do what it takes to get to the show, then you learn to grow and develop your other skills.

Not so much that part, just the whole "did he have the means to buy one" part. He'd have to drive relatively far to a state that doesn't have any particularly strict gun show purchasing laws. Maybe PA would be an option, but I'm honestly not sure. He's definitely not getting one easily in NJ/CT/MA.

Not saying it's even close to out of the question that he did buy one himself, I just don't know how feasible it was or wasn't for him. Unless he purchased it between the time his mother passed and the time the incident happened, he'd probably have needed some disposable income to have paid for it. I have no idea if the guy worked or what his financial situation was.

All irrelevant really, absolutely brutal situation all around regardless of the specifics of how he came by the gun.

I still hate that I watched my parents ring camera footage of it. Even though a tree blocked it you hear him cry and then boom. I’m an idiot

Woof. Newsday saying he had a pump-action shotgun, easy and cheap to obtain around here so unless he was obviously mentally disabled then it wouldn't have been difficult for him to get.
