yeah well that is definitely one of the main "hurdles" you face when you're first learning how to play, once you're able to pass that a bit and manage to do a few chords while strumming it gets much easier and fun to play. just doing simple power chords while mainly focusing on that strumming and timing is the way to go when you're beginning imho.

you might get the impression at times that you'll never get the hang of it but that feeling is totally normal lol, it just takes practice. there's a ton of helpful learning videos specifically for that on youtube, perhaps you could look at some of those to get a few starting tips.
