Honest question...

Do you really think what you say has any value?

- VanHockeyGuy

Value? I think maybe you’re an idiot and you take this all a bit too serious. It’s just a time filler as I lay on the couch with my iPad watching the Lions / Rams game.

Lefty was long gone from this country years ago.

Now, he's coming back and has issues with the level of care. I wonder how much he's paid into it in the past 10 years earning all of this money abroad?

There's little sympathy here. I pay into it yearly without hardly ever drawing from the system.

Swedish healthcare does not cover US fees. It would probably fly you home for care, or cover emergency care if you paid extra ( just like Canada ). There's no sense paying for both if you have a family in the US and can afford US care. Most people can't.

For as little as he played he made a good living at it. He owns a very successful real estate company here, guy works hard and he’s very driven for a 36 year old.

100% Yet he complains about the system he sucks the blood from.

I feel bad for his family.

The guy made about $6M in less than 10 years. That's well more than most people make in a lifetime. He should be doing OK

No one knows where I really live, also, it’s just a talking point in the political thread. I logged onto “My Services Canada” account the other day to check on my CPP at age 65, which is roughly $1100/month at this point, it’s paltry when compared to social security. Which may be broke by 2030 if things keep going the way they are.

His golf game is horrible though, money can’t buy everything.

Well if you aren't being honest with us then what does anything you say really matter? Social security won't be broke, neither will CPP.

We have become too socialist where we allow people to live too freely without paying anything into it. There absolutely needs to be a larger divide between people that fund the system and people that draw from it.

Why on earth would I tell a bunch of faceless, nameless, strangers on the internet personal details of my life? I’ll throw out a few snippets here and there but outside of being an oil and gas professional, and being from Victoria, I talk about someone else’s life more than my own, theirs is more interesting. I think I used their email to signup for my first account too. This is all truly a big facade.

My hockey opinions are mostly my own though, which is why I’m here, 40% of it is just to poke the bear.

You can choose to engage with me for a bit of meaningless banter, or you can just ignore me, that’s totally up to you. When you take this too serious, like Makita, or you seek value from it, as VHG mentioned, you end up becoming frustrated because you’re looking for something from it. Clearly this is just 100% meaningless banter.

I had a football day today as well. Except the wife and dog stole the couch. I'm suffering on the lazy boy.
