8 - Nylander - Bust
8- Mitts - Immature, rushed development, late bloomer
7- Cozens - decent player, now needs to be consistent 70+ pt player
8- Quinn - injuries delaying development. Solid game, needs to prove he's "availability
1 - Power - time to show why 1-OA
13 - Benson - excellent pick. Top 6 player
9- Savoie

- IonSabres

You dodged the question. 3/5 of the 7-9 guys have given them average middle 6 performance. 2/5 were moved without making a real contribution. 0/5 have given them 1st line performance.

That's pretty bad, isn't it?

Ok just heard the tage comments on the radio

He should really keep that to himself. I understand the whole look good feel good thing but to backhandedly blame fans for the lack of energy in the building is just more of the same bullpoop they brought all last season

What happened to the sentiment at locker cleanout? I'd ship him out for saying it privately, let alone publicly. Again.

- ieetbred

It's unbelievable. Opening night was packed and energized and they totally laid an egg which set the tone for the whole season. I still blame captain Kyle, and by extension, management for letting that attitude continue. This organization, man.

Wanted to keep it to 7-9. Little early to grade the 10-16 guys.

zucker starts out in the top 6 IMO

Lindy loves to lean on vets

- homiedclown

Is that a good or bad thing?

In premise, I don't hate having Benson start lower in the lineup. That being said, his puck retrieval skills would be a welcome addition to either top6 line. Not sure what I think about Zucker-Cozo-Quinn as a line.

Horrible actually, we hope a few mid to late 1st will make the failure so far worth it.

Yea I like tage too but he definitely needs to shut the (frank) up about the fans

I've been to a good handful of games the last 2 years, more specifically 2 years ago where it was packed and rocking in there

Has nothing to do with jerseys

Based off last year Peterka should start line 1. Him Tage and Tuch had some of the best metrics together.

Nice that Zucker and Benson can move up and down that top 9.

Per @SabresPR:

🚌 #Sabres Travel Update 🚌

For the 2024-2025 season, the Buffalo Sabres are taking a unique approach to team travel. In an effort to foster stronger team cohesion and embrace a more grounded, collective experience, the Sabres will be traveling exclusively by bus for all away games.

This decision reflects our commitment to building team vibes, allowing for more time together, and reducing our carbon footprint. We believe this will enhance team spirit and create unforgettable memories on the road.

Lol

Man there are alot of awful takes in that comment section. My favorite is the one talking about all the cap space we have making 2.5 irrelevant, its only 1 year and won't prevent us from landing a superstar. All in one comment

I ran 20seasons of simulations on NHL 24 and these were the hands down standout line combos

Zucker/Tage/Tuch
JJ/Cozens/Quinn
Benson/McLoud/Greenway
Lafferty/Krebs/Kubel, Malenstyn

Dahlin/Power
Clifton/Byram
Samuelsson/Joker

- lulags

NHL 24 has issues then.

Zucker is not, nor was he ever a L1 player.

Krebs and Greenway need to gettyup

Clifton is not a 2nd Pairing Dman

Overall, it is not strong by any means.

I'd discount the 2/5 traded .. what does that have to do with anything.. other than other teams saw an asset that they wanted to acquire, and the Sabres gained young assets at position of needs. So I'm going to ignore Savoie and Mitts for this exercise.

I have higher hopes for both Cozens and Quinn fulfilling L2 responsibilities. I'm willing to give them more time, STARTING this year to achieve it. Like I said, each needs to hit 70 points. The verdict isn't in yet.

Nylander was a bust his 1st season...bad pick, especially with what was available and the needs of the organization at the time (Dman).

Sadly, that was 7 years ago. Good point, but still, he isn't L1 material at this point.

Good decision given the fragility at the position we've seen thus far.

If kept under 4.58M, he'd cost a 2nd.

We won't try to accomplish this because we're morons. But is this not a no brainer?
