Per multiple reports, the Calgary Flames are likely to have 33-year-old veteran defenseman Tyson Barrie in training camp on a PTO. Last season, Barrie dressed in exactly half of the games (41 GP) for the Nashville Predators. The three-time 50-plus point getter recorded 15 points and dressed in one playoff game for the Predators.

Barrie is on the downside of his career. He has sometimes been a divisive player because he was miscast a bit earlier in his career in ways that exposed some of his limitations. However, he's always been a producer (seven seasons of 40 or more points) and can arguably still help a team in a supporting role.

Agree to disagree on the blue and gold. How can anyone say a classic hockey jersey with an original color scheme isn't iconic. Not to mention the team was always competitive and making the playoffs minus a handful of years untill the late 2000s

Cause they're classic and not iconic. No chips, no significant event. Nothing iconic happened in them.

Its interesting how many people call for black and red to be permanent. Its mostly just an age group which im a part of and its stupid

They are completely ignoring a rather good history with a classic, iconic jersey and color scheme. It is a perfect combination right now, though I think 15 games is a few too many

The last 13 years has really destroyed this fan base and its ability to think. The only things people around my age remember is Hasek, no goal and 2 seasons in the mid 2000s, one of which wasn't even in the black and red

That sums it up. They were a lame, follow the trend jersey at the time. Was never anything special or exciting about them.

We were all kids and we all have memories. One of mine is my uncle making fun of the goathead every time he seen me donning it as a kid. If the sabres were as bad for those 10 years as they've been the past 10, goatheads would be only a step above the slug
