In the meantime:

Is winning a faceoff a good thing?

Discuss.

Miami's offense looked like garbage week 1.
- Lunaion

Still rolled up 400yrds in total Offense, sloppy like we were the 1st half.

Why? They're still prospects. Being that they've been through a lot of the development process and are about to turn pro, who better to put in the lockerroom with more recently drafted kids? Seems like a good opportunity to show leadership...to me. No?
- QuinnFan

Think they've shown us the downside: injuries. Samuelsson a few years ago. Savoie last year. If you're expected to make a strong showing in camp and contribute in the NHL, it's a gamble without much upside.

I'm surprised Johnson is there.

Didn't watch, but looks like they did nothing until Jax fumbled the game away.

I have also been told no. As such, I have no idea now. I just wish someone would tell me how to think so I could tell others, in the most condescending fashion imaginable.

I know Savoie got dinged up but didn't remember Sammy. Was that just last year though? I can't remember any big injuries coming from a prospect challenge tbh.

Savoie would of got hurt just a couple weeks later with how weak that shoulder was.

Could not convert 3rd Down, think they were 6 for 16 on 3rd down. Tua still had over 300yrds passing.

Broke his hand a few years ago, right?

Felt like they held back some guys last year, as a result.

Strange world. KA paid more for Beck Malenstyn, who no one ever hear of, than he could get for Krebs in a trade.
- Lunaion

Moving from 11 to 14 and still drafting the guy they wanted , plus adding Beck is a top5gm move

Krebs has proven to be useless

Hiring lindy is another top5gm move imo

How did he convince a hall of fame coach to return to Buffalo ? Kudos kyvyn

Based on how our defense looked week 1. We are not ready for that Miami offense.

Later in the year might be a different story

- Sabretooth9

defense was outstanding in the second half

perhaps it was adjustments after losing johnson taking a few series before they kicked it up a notch

rousseau was on fire
von looked to be back to where he was 2 years ago

lb's all over the field making plays

I saw a lot of good from the d

I hope they just let Josh be Josh as it looked like they held him back the first few series

Fair enough. I guess I understand the reticence then. Still think having some "almost pros" near the new prospects is a good thing, but certainly don't want to see any of those 5 miss significant time either.

Would you hold them all out? Or where would you draw the line if you were calling the shots?

This is one of the more lopsided trades we've made in a long time. The guy was likely destined for waivers...

2 worst trades IMO this summer was that one and the Sens giving the blues Mathieu Joseph and a pick for nothing

Agreed with Beck, but can't ever count on a team in our division doing us a favor like the Sens did with Joseph. He did have a great year last year, but he isn't some game changer either. I'd say the McLeod trade was worse than that miss, but I know a lot of others think I'm dead wrong there. Time will tell. I really like how the Blues went about their business this offseason, markedly improved.

If I'm expecting someone to compete for a spot on the team, I wouldn't want them playing games before camp. What do they get? 1 practice beforehand? Some of their competition is very light on prospects and heavy on guys hoping for ECHL jobs. I don't think it's a great mix.

I can see that. So Helenius and Ostlund play, the rest don't?
