Reading losing scandal, there's no way we were in on Laine, if true.

If the timeline I've seen is correct, he was traded around the time his father passed (November 2021). I'm not saying that's the sole reason for his perceived attitude issue, but he did just come out of the Player Assistance Program and started a mental health initiative. I don't think it's a far leap to say it had an impact.

Maybe if his head is finally in a good place, he can get back to the player he wanted to be.

Good write up IMO from Daily Faceoff summarizing the outlook for the Hawks this season. Personally I can't disagree with much the writer says from summarizing the position groups, to who possibly goes at the TDL, to his prediction of an about 80 point finish.

Another site chimes in on the top 10 Hawks prospects. A balanced mix of 6 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goal tender. It would be nice to fast forward to the 2026-27 & 2027-28 seasons when most of these guys should be on the team.

Corey Pronman´s NHL teams under age 23 prospects rankings are coming out 8 teams per day (in reverse order). Tomorrow he posts numbers 1 to 8.

Where do we place tomorrow?

I'd rather "rewind" to 2008.

His list includes 23 years and younger so Bedard and KK will be on it. Probably top 3.

Looks like Swayman is holding Boston's feet to the fire. He's looking for around 10M. Bruins with about 8.5M in cap space. He can sign for 9 to 9.5M, but Boston will have to play with a 21 or 22 man roster.

I feel for him and his depression, but i agree with KD, give me players that love the game of hockey who want to compete. I just never felt that way about Laine, or i should say never saw it from him. With the Blackhawks young group no need to take a chance on him especially when you have 2 former CBJs who indicated he was a big reason why they weren't winning.

It might just be me, but I can't get behind everyone penciling in AA at 2C. Honestly that would give us probably the worst 2C in the entire NHL. He had one good season in his career but on a good team he was never more than a 3C. He is past 30 now and isn't likely going to do much other than continue to decline.

Sure 2 years ago he put up 20-20-40 points, but he also got the benefit of ice time with Kane/Domi and then in the tail end of the year extra ice time which he won't get this season (We had no talent left so he got extra ice).

I know he has been battling the groin issue, but he was one of our absolute least effective forwards when he did play last year. I could understand if he was good at the dot, or good defensively, or had some good playmaking skills, but literally all he does is skate fast and make an occasionally good individual play.

If we were still in tank mode, sure I can see it, but we need better. Someone needs to step up, a young player or one of our many wingers who can play C also.

Did Paul or LA write this article? The shameless pursuit of tanking, hahaha

Cayden Lindstrom ruled out for rookie camp, still recovering from his injury. I wish this kid nothing but the best as he has all the tools, but glad KD didn’t take that risk. I realize that all picks come with risks, but some are riskier than others. With that said, if Lindstrom has a healthy career, he’ll be someone to be reckoned with.

Lindstrom and Demidov was right there for the Ducks as well, and they passed on both.

Kind of hard to draft either kid considering one has back issues and the other was hurt twice in the same season. What happens when they play against men?

Isn't that the same surgery that has JJ McCarthy sidelined for the whole year for the Vikings? It seems like it would be harder on the knees to be an NHL goalie than an NFL QB.

The way i understand it there are 3 tendons if you tear all 3 you are done for the year, but if you tear 1 supposedly it's a much faster recovery time.
