-TK? the immediate choice if Coots is done soon. Brad Marchand Lite

-York? captain of his WJC winning team

-Sanheim? long tenured NHL vet D? (the most unlikely)

-Jett? he's got the work ethic to be a young captain if they want to

-MM? go all in on Michkov being Lindros

-Bonk? considering his dad, he has had a unique insight on the game at the pro level and could be a good future voice by proxy

I'd lean toward Jett, York or Bonk myself.

NHL teams essentially do the same thing. Look at the disparity between the projection of both players. One player is clearly more talented and projects higher. Stop with the nonsense of we won't know the answer. Based on what we know now, the Flyers took the wrong player.

Personally Id just give it to some Bottom 6 guy, like a Jordan Staal. The reality is, it is just a letter. Leaders in the room are leaders regardless of whether there is a letter on their sweater. Im sure it means something to the players but in terms of the product on the ice, its really meaningless. All it does is potentially put a lot of pressure on said player, espoecially when things arent going well. Captain is the face of the team and the guy who everyone points the finger at for blame.

Id Say Konecny, Foerster or Farabee. Assuming all are still around of course. Who knows what the bottom 6 will look like by then
