how many points were you expecting from him?
- hello it's me 2050

He had 7 the year before which was his highest. Dude should not have been on the ice. He averaged more than 1 penalty a game.

Again, who the f cares about cousins, has noting to do with the Flyers.

yes they should. love the death penalty, sadly not used nearly enough.

Well, I might make an exception for you.

It would be so much fun. Watching you strapped to a chair. Writhing in pain. Your loved ones crying.

Who knows. I might just be able to time the pop of the champagne bottle to your first scream.

No dude, you STFU. MJL is completely correct on this. There is nothing wrong with someone sharing their faith. If you don't like it, just keep scrolling, no need to comment.

You think that says something about me. But it actually is a (*cough*) testament to the group.

Anyway, horrible tragedy. Gotta run.

Now STFU moron, and resume your imbecilish existence.

PT is a fool and personifies the observation that there's a difference between a fool and an idiot - an idiot is at least aware of his shortcomings while a fool is unaware and is most likely to think himself brilliant. A complete lack of wisdom. There is nothing that can be done to change the mindset of a fool.

No you didn't get it and your research sucked. Your friend doesn't know what he is talking about. This is just you using an appeal to authority fallacy.

The verse is very simple. The thief and Jesus are not the same in the verse. It is simply about being prepared for something that will happen. To encourage to be ready for the coming of God. To live your life in a Christian manner and to do good deeds to prepare for your time.

Only you PT, only you.

Perhaps because, like much of religious text/usage, it makes no sense.

The metaphor is about the sudden arrival of Jesus (like a thief breaking into your house). For a religious person, surely that is a good thing. You want that thief to come.

But the poster asks us to be ready/prepared. If you are ready/prepared for the thief, the thief will flee/not come. The thief being Jesus, surely that is a bad thing.

Oh well.

In Judaism people often say "may his (her, their) memory be a blessing" after a death. To me it's like saying "they still live on in your thoughts"...or "when you think of them remember the happy times". I'm sure there is a deeper more religious meaning to the statement that would make the phrase less charming to me. It's difficult to find the right thing to say when someone dies.

Here is the complete verse:

"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into."

Now porridge brain, I really gotta go.

What level of intelligence does one have to have to know that a Bible verse is not metaphorically comparing the Lord to a thief?

It's not difficult to be a human being and just let a Bible verse be a Bible verse during a time of tragedy when people are hurting.

It was a satire, intended to highlight the inherent barbarism of the death penalty, and to bring it personally home - past your calloused, jaded perceptions.

You are wrong PT. It means if you were to be ready for a thief, why wouldn't you be ready for the lord. Its about effort and where you apply your energy.

Wow, you have made someone else's expression of faith in the face of tragedy about you. Your head must be a dark and lonely place. I feel sorry for you. Maybe you should reach out to your friend from Harvard more often. The smartest people generally find a balance between faith and intellect.

Right after the entire verse has been posted stating exactly that?

Oooh, let me see, let me see:

How about lobotomized?

Me close?

Differing weights are an abomination to the Lord, And a false scale is not good.
