Sorry to the family first and foremost. Hockey is just a game. It’s a way of life to the fans yes. But it’s just a game. Sorry to the fans of Columbus and Calgary that have loved this guy. This is a terrible tragedy. Such a tragic event. My house almost burned down yesterday morning. I was able to escape with my dogs. I don’t want to have to see another trade guy for quite a while. My heart goes out to the Gaudreau family and the hockey family at large

Frankly, as someone on another site posted, I believe the CBJ should retire Johnny Hockey's jersey at the Winter Classic game and fly it from the highest flagpole at Ohio Stadium.

If they want to do it twice, like at the home opener, fine with me. Put it right next to #90, and then take no prisoners this season.

He was more frustrated and annoyed that he is in jail until Thursday at least as they extended the wait for release due to the holiday on Monday.

He sighed and seemed disinterested rather than care about what he did

Can't believe people would go so low after a loved and respected player and family were so unnecessarily taken away far too soon

Johnny has done more for people and the community in a day, not just hockey community, than most people have done in a lifetime

I hate the argument that someone was drunk and use it as an argument that they shouldn't be punished as much as they weren't in control

Should not be a reason or an excuse

You may not have intended to do it but many times they feel invincible and think nothing will happen and if they get away with it once they can get away with it a hundred times. Go on backroads etc but not take the responsibility

There needs to be even HEFTIER penalties for DUI in general. Can't sit back and wait for people to die to punish. Right now DUI is just a financial burden, they need to have higher serving times.
