41 players were had votes for Selkie last year. Matthews was 3rd. He might very well win a Selkie in the future.

Drai was not on the list at all. McDavid had 1 4th place vote.

That's instantly the worst contract in the NHL. Surprise surprise, hyman is brought in to play shotgun to mcd, scores a pile. And the time he gets with mcdavid takes away from draisaitl, who's goals and points drop.

26 points in just 450 mins with mcd, 29 in 800 without, at 5 v 5. This plays out every year. Without mcdavid his points per 60 doesn't crack the top 50. Oilers fans will blame it on a crap roster but the highest paid player in the NHL should be able to crack the top 50 whether he is paired with a generational player or not. Especially when he doesn't offer much more than offense.
