well, from what I understand, "open box" would be a product that was barely used and returned by a customer, then put back on sale at a lower price without any repairs or tweaking done to it. in this case the warranties might not apply, whereas a refurbished one usually comes with the warranties still included.

Open boxes tend to have extended warranties in my experience. If you make something like that unreturnable, then no one will buy em, leaving the store with overstock

ok well that's good, especially for something like a laptop, it would have to be pretty damn cheap to have people consider buying it without any warranties whatsoever.

The dark cherry burst is beautiful. It also comes in Amber (I used to as well - she was my ex-gf), and red. I might get the red one next - although I hate buying the same axe twice......

It weighs less than 6lbs and sounds like a (frank)ing Les Paul dude!! I'm not even kidding. There are ample YouTube vids comparing the 2.

I got an open box monitor, saved like $400 on it.

Works awesome, no pixel problems, scratches, etc...

If you go through a reliable seller, (ie: best buy reseller market, lots of others), you will be fine.

I am hesitant to buy open box stuff from Amazon... you cannot exactly walk into a store if no one is addressing your problems.

And never from e-bay.
