EJ's role is pretty much to sit there just in case. It takes time to call up someone from the Phatoms, they no longer play across the street. Call ups need to be done in advance.

Obviously, Andrae is not going to be given the same role as Johnson. I have posted this to you previously. The Flyers should be a rebuilding team. They have Sanheim, York, Seeler and Drysdale. That's 4. The other two spots should be an open competition between Zamula, Andrae, Ginning and Attard. With Ristolainen in the role that Johnson is pegged for. That gives young players a legitimate chance. The Flyers are going to do what they always do. Keep prospects down until they no longer are part of the picture. Always cater to veterans because they have to win. They named Andrae as a reason why they didn't draft Buium. Andrae is so good, he's not going to make the team.

EJ is non factor. Hes going to be in the press box most nights. Comes down to

Seeler has trade protection but he can be waived and demoted. Waiving may be more preferable than playing in Allentown. Seeler has only been a regular roster player the past year or so and hes in his 30s. His spot is not a lock imo

Ristolainen i think can be traded. I dont think we will get anything back. I think retention should be a non starter but depending on cost i might be willing to part with a mid pick to get rid of him or perhaps a RyJo like contract we could bury in the minors

Not much to add on Zamula.

Flyers could also keep someone up and alternate D which they did last season. Not ideal but can be a temporary solution

Deslaurier started the season as the defacto 4th line LW. As the season progressed Torts started to sit Deslaurier because he simply wasnt effective. If Seeler is effective, then yes his spot is safe but if he doesnt play well, Torts isnt just going to play him because he has a shiny new contract

Part sure but irrellevant. If Briere doesnt agree with the signing you think Fletcher decides "well guess im not gonna do it". Fletcher was the boss, he makes the final decisions. Is it possible Briere was onboard? Sure but if he wasnt, he had no power to veto it. The result is still the same. Much like everyone I hated the signing. Id rather have kept Lindblom than buy him out just to sign Braun and ND.

Fletcher got progressively worse every year with the team.

He has played two straight seasons of over 70 games in a Flyers uniform. Instead of trading him, they re-signed him to a 4 year contract extension with a NTC in the first two years of the deal. What does that scream to you? Do the math. It's not hard.

Go look up Charlie Os conversation on kolosov today on youtube. Kolosov has no leverage, he signed a contract and his Minsk team already has its goalies. Will Russian teams fight to keep him, probably not. He will be banned from play international hockey like Fedotov is.

Flyers can table his contract and hold his rights indefinitely.
