I get it. You want the better goalie and it’d cost the islanders at least that to get Shesty

Remember when we were concerned that Sorokin was going to be better than Igor?

Meh, Sorokin will be fine. Apparently he's been battling some sort of injury which explains last season's dip

Yes, the medical term for that would be the bilateral hairband though

Marty Biron explained it best with goalie salaries. The the last 2 regular seasons Igor has had average numbers but he stepped it up drastically in the playoffs!! Thats what you need from your best players though. Im hoping for 11 per. I dont know anything about those deferred payments but if the Rangers can use that, they should.

I see no reason why they shouldn't be employing that technique. It could give them so much flexibility. Use it now before it gets closed.

Maybe nobody caught the verbiage which is crazy to think given how much they must be paying some of the people to be looking at this stuff.

I would imagine because the player has to agree to it and most people don't want to defer most of their pay to a long way off in the future.

I'd like to keep Shesterkin's cap hit down, but there certainly isn't ever going to be a number where I'm thinking it's better to let him walk, like many clowns on twitter seem to be saying

Let’s say he asked for 14-15 mil, would that change your view? Has to some level where the Rangers say too much. What this is, not sure.

Yes, but I don't see any team offering him that money.

A walk away point always exists. Hoping Drury and management is smart enough to calibrate that mark correctly, factoring in likely annual cap rises.
