From what I was told, they are not relying on him for a full season going forward. And there were teams kicking the tires on him, but backed off when they heard about the issue he is going through. If they are able to move him, it looks like maybe next summer, as a LTIR for a cap strapped team.

The Russian team used to be in a similar series against the CHL teams but because of the attack on Ukraine no one is inviting any Russian athletes. And as I had mentioned to you before there are negotiations to include the the top USHL team to play for the Memorial cup at the end of the junior season.

I looked this up before posting, something I should do more of, and thought I remember the CAN-RUS series called the Subway Series. And it was from 09-16', changed names, Covid comes and they had to cancel that yr, the Cossacks War Pig it and that's all she wrote.

I'd You Tube those games a couple months after the fact and hot damn, was that some exciting, intense and sometimes hate filled tilts..... I miss it and think it was great for the sport.

And no, I forgot already you posting you hear scuttle but about the USHL sending their champ to play in the Memorial Cup. With the US and Canada inked for 3 yrs and the US the option to host in a 4th yr we have the proverbial camels nose under the tent.

I have no doubt the new series will be fantastic hockey and maybe, just maybe it'll inch the possibility forward of the USHL playing in the Memorial Cup someday.... AND, now with the NCAA kids getting big NIL money I can't see a way they can win a lawsuit to keep Major Junior kids out of the college hockey game.

And when that happens we'll see what that does to the Jrs hockey landscape.

I watched a bit of the Ducks last yr, worth the time just to watch McTavish, and Gudas was his usual monster self. He looked the part of a blood and guts captain. ..... And, last I knew ANA was trying to move Fowler.

Interesting at the end, at about the 27 minute mark, group pictures were taken. First - Foligno-Davidson-Wirtz, then Richardson joins the trio, then Faulkner joins the group, then former captains Chelios and Savard join the crowd. No sign of Toews even though he was mentioned by KD and Foligno in their earlier comments.

Me thinks there is some friction between the organization and #19. Either he wasn't invited to the festivities, or was invited and turned it down?

In a perfect world your 5/6 d men would have been Keith/Seabrook/Hammer/Oduya clones,but that isn't realistic.

Tried to tune in 62.2 and 62.3 (where the games will be broadcast.) Was able to somewhat get 62.2 but it froze repeatedly and “tiled.” Could not get 62.3 at all. Not hopeful this is going to work out well, and very upset at the idea of not being able to watch. Also won’t be able to record, pause, etc. even if the antenna works out better. Maybe they will come through with some deals with streaming providers.

I believe it's fairly simple he's got his undies in a bunch over he and Kane being kicked to the curb. Obviously, there's a scenario he and Kane deserved to end their Chicago careers on their terms for what they accomplished for the franchise. Either that or he's pissed Collitan was fired.

The Ducks board seemed happy with the pick, those who chimed in. Just a surprise to me, that's all. I figured they signed Killorn for that reason, and Fowler is the guy with tenure, whether or not they move him, unless Fowler was the one who asked to be moved.

I dont understand how they were kicked to the curb… neither player wanted any part of a rebuild.

Something happened to Toews around the Onnit era; he lost his marbles or something and never seemed to find them again. His fall-off began well before the Covid stuff. Maybe Ryan J. stealing his lunch money in 2017 crushed his soul.
