I feel like they need to look at moving at least one forward yet(Farabee/Laughton). Just seems like a numbers game if your wanting to get guys like Brink and Michkov in the lineup regularly.

Your conspiracy theories about the Briere and the Flyers are getting old to be honest. Briere stated clearly yesterday that Kolosiv wanted a spot on the Flyers roster, otherwise he is not going to come. Why on Earth would Briere make such a statement unless he heard it directly from the Kolosov's camp. Why would Briere blatently lie about this?
- jd250

A person in a position of power would never deceive the public, would they? There are a myriad of reasons to lie, maybe it is to buy time as things get ironed out behind the scenes? Maybe the truth does not make the Flyers look good and the pr team needs time to craft a message, knowing that the line "if he does not want to be a flyer then F%$k him" will not work again?

How naive you are to think that gmdb would not lie to the public

No I don't think he lied about Quitter, in fact we still have not heard Quitter's side of the story which tells me Quitter has something to hide and thus just wants this to go away. Briere would not have said this at all if he had not heard from Kolosov's camp that he wants a gauranteed NHL roster spot, otherwise he wants to stay in the AHL. This is not speculation on Briere's part.

it is public record he lied about cutter. unlike the flyers cutter is more mature taking the high road. no need for a smear campaign.

danny boy didn't say what you're saying he said. it is speculation.

What does Amnesia or Fedotov have to do with anything? Why is Kolosov not here then? Does he no longer want to play hockey at any level? I gotta a spot on my mens league time if he is at all interested.

See my previous response regarding Fedotov.

Kolosov certainly has opened himself up to speculation and is currently not eligible to play anywhere professionally except the Flyers (unless the KHL would be willing to go the Fedotov route again). He's in a difficult spot and he put himself there. I would say it currently looks like he would rather not play professionally than come over to North America barring further evidence.

Your naivete, gullibility and rubber stamping everything the Flyers do, has long since passed the point of getting old. Now with that being said, I have no evidence at this point to believe that the Flyers did anything wrong in the Kolosov situation. However, you buying everything the Flyers say and asking why would Briere lie. Scammers should have your number on speed dial.

I might have preferred Chuck's lawyer-ese tbh... all of Danny's answers are either he's "excited" about xyz or more circle the wagons "culture" talk or he's deferring to Torts.
- Tomahawk

His nice guy demeanor was appealing when he was a player. Not so much as a GM.

Yea, any idea or thought of Briere being a change agent or cut from a different cloth from the Flyers culture. Is pretty much out the window.

You're not paying attention. Briere admitted that he lied about the Gauthier situation to protect the player.

The first two minutes of Briere's presser was crystal clear to me.

They never would have fired Fletcher if it basically wasn’t forced upon them by the fanbase.

His statement on the worth of Laughton's intangibles last season bordered on parody. It's very deflating to get a young GM who was a great skill player in, and then he sounds like a hockey man cliche.

not quite sold on Brink yet. Farabee may very well be the better player when all is said and done.

Briere lied about quitters intentions, 100%. Thats a gms job. We all know that. It was the right thing to do for all reasons including trade value.

I agree, I have no problem with Briere not being truthful there. His job is to protect the asset and do what he thinks is best for the team.

I'm not talking about GM speak, which all GMs have to learn and exercise. I am talking about this specific case. Why would Briere come out and state what he stated yesterday if it were not true? Kolosov's camp could easily read what he said and dispute it if they want to, just like Gauthier could have disputed what Briere stated about his situation, which of course he never did. In this specific case, I don't see what there is to lie about. Once again its a case of an entitled kid that is getting bad advice from either family, friends or his agent, and now may never play in the NHL which is just plain stupid.

That is not what we are talking about. He means Briere lied about not being able to talk to Gauthier and his camp, not about lying to protect the kid which Briere openly admitted and explained why.

Don't need to. Bill laid out the synopsis. Other than Briere, there is no corroboration of what Kolosov's stance is. It is naïve to blindly accept what Briere says.
