So what did you guys think of the first two games? The performance against the Flyers C team was good and Kapanen was impressive, but yesterday against the Devils D team wasn’t really. Guess that’s what preseason is for.

Loved the crowd reaction when Laine was skating up the ice with the puck, I’ll admit I felt like cheering too lol.

Matheson kept losing the puck at the blue line on the pp which did not look very good yesterday. Habs had a strong 3rd period vs the Flyers and yes, Kapanen and that third line looked good out there.

Habs have yet to give up a goal so far, so there is that.

Agreed on the power play, did you notice Caufield wasn’t deployed in the same spot as before? Almost as if St-Louis is getting ready to load up his PP1 and put Laine in Cole’s usual spot…He put him back in his spot once the PP was 0/6 though lol

I like that they seem to have settled on their lines/ d pairings to start the year, and that they have pretty much kept them together all camp so far.

I think this is a good thing, rather than having guys constantly move around, like in previous years / camps.

Still waiting on that Dach / Laine chemistry to come out.... how long do they leave that line together? I know Dach and Slaf looked good together previously, wonder if Slaf / Laine swap lines at some point.

I expect them to be very patient with Dach and Laine and fans should be as well. They both barely played last season. I hope they wont touch that first line and give that 2nd line time. It has a lot of potential.

It kinda makes sense to get down to business right away if they want to be “in the mix” has they’ve said one or twice lol.

St-Louis said he would be patient with his second line since two of the three guys hadn’t played for a long time….how patient? That’s a good question…there are still 4 preseason games to go…

We’ll get an update tomorrow morning on Guhle…if he’s back soon, Mailloux’s time to go to Laval is coming
