You don't pay an unproven goaltender a 3.25M cap hit to see what he has. They signed him to that money because they are very high on him. He is a lock for the roster. There is nobody to take his place. Petersen is not good and the potential Phantoms back up is on a ATO. In the context of the conversation, there is not an open spot for Kolosov to compete for in the NHL barring an injury. That is apparently why Kolosiv does not want to come over. You apparently can't grasp what "in love" with the guy meant as a cliche used by another poster.
- MJL

You are speaking in facts like you know something but you don’t. Their goaltenders are horrible. They gave him a two year deal to stick around. If he stinks he won’t play. Eat up Cliff

You are incorrect. In fact in my replies, I stated that York, Sanheim, Drysdale and SEELER are all locks for the top 4 barring injury.

You are a fool! Now back to status quo.

- MJL

A team that is supposedly rebuilding like the Flyers should be , should have created open roster spots available for young players to compete for. They should be competing against other younger players and not against established older veteran players who are not the future of the team. That is one area where the Flyers have been consistently wrong on.
- MJL

To which I explained that every rebuilding team has vets. Is Seeler apart of our future? You’re harping on the idea that no defenseman who isn’t apart of the long term plan for this team shouldn’t be playing over guys like Attard and Ginning - I’m sorry but that is not competing for a job no matter how many times you repeat it.

It’s funny how you resort to insults when you’ve clearly been shown the door 😆

You've got nothing in response. Your only replies are condescending responses and insults.

Kolosov can come over right now, honor his contract, and win the starting job for the phantoms. But apparently he feels that is beneath him. He can sit and rot in the KHL for all I care. I hope the Flyers stick it to him so he never plays an NHL game. That will be a lesson to him and any other player that thinks they are bigger than the game.
- jd250

He is not the first and certainly won't be the last.

You said they should all be playing over vets “to compete for a spot” - at that point you have handed them a spot - there’s no competition. Thats also a poor way to develop both those players and the team in general. You want 3 career AHLers to play instead of EJ, Risto and Seeler. Explain how they’d be for competing for the spots you’ve handed them in the name of “development?” 😂

Right now there’s a camp to steal a job and inevitable injuries that will require a call up. Play your butt off in LHV to get that call up and force the flyers to keep you there. Limited spots means show us how bad you want it.

You want everyone playing - then everyone’s got a spot, nice and comfy. Thats not a competition and certainly isn’t a good way to identify who will be an NHL regular

God you’re dumb

there are no jobs to steal on defense. the top 7 is set. this is what you cant grasp.

not one person has said to give them a job. No matter how someone plays they will be sent back to the ahl. unless they make a trade, which is possible but unlikely.

No jobs will be won or lost based on merit.

on offense there are also no jobs to steal as that is 99% set. maybe the jett makes them think twice and they reverse course.

Where in that post that you brought over from the other thread, does it state that all the AHL defenseman should be given a spot?

What I clearly posted is that there should be two open spots and two opportunities for four young defenseman to compete for. Those 4 are Zamula, Andrae, Ginning and Attard. How do all of the AHL defenseman play, if I'm only advocating for two spots?

Last chance fool!

“we don’t have any defenseman currently that can steal a job from anyone on the roster” is how that should read

You said a rebuilding team should not have any vets not apart of the long term plans playing above developing players. Now own it.

no that is not how it should read.

whether or not that is true doesn't change what I said. they do not have that opportunity.

Flahr said last season Andrae is ready.

That is also a disgrace seeing how bad the flyers have been that they do not have anyone who is "good" enough to steal a job. Great drafting/development on their end.

Start the season on a west coast trip, 3 sets of back to backs in the first 10 games. How do we see this playing out

They should be well conditioned to handle it so early in the season -- I think its better to have that kind of schedule early rather than later in the season

Montreal entered the O zone with relative ease. Flyers continued their boring dump and chase that has been their signature for the past five decades. Only problem is they are not fast enough to chase. SC and SL were invisible, and ND was -3 so we are in mid-season form. The Flyers could not keep up with Montreal.....
- mr4tno

They looked like slow dinasours versus Habs speedy Gonzales. Both teams in a self-proclaimed rebuild mode. Habs looks best suited for the modern game.

I won't make any big assessments based on either of the first two games TBH. As for last night, that was a bare bones AHL lineup with two borderline goalies. ND was wearing an A for God's sake

It is kind of weird he calls you Cliff, when he clearly wasn’t alive when Cheers was on TV.
- roenick97

I think he is about 34. Meaning he was born around 1990. Cheers (which I have not seen a single episode of) ran till 1993. So this is untrue in letter, even if it might be true in spirit.

It’s available through multiple streaming apps. I’ve watched every episode. Leave it to the local idiot to not understand the show is still in circulation or people only watch “new tv shows”. A real moron if you will.

Flyers actually play a speed game these days - the old slow dump and chase has not been a large part of their game in yrs. Obviously, last night was a shyt show, but my largest takeaway is just how much of a genius Peterson's agent is.
- 26912 PP

I just do not see the speed, even before last night game which as you stated was a SS. They always seem to be the second person to the puck....

I don't think he means you are unfamiliar with it, fwiw. I think he means that those shows tend to evoke a certain time, and you are using a character/reference/insult from a time that is before yours.

It would be like me using the the Walter Cronkite catchphrase "And that's the way it is" in my speech repeatedly.

Whatevs. I will leave you guys to it.
