I might be late to the party but Capwages.com is a pretty suitable replacement for Capfriendly…..not quite as good but getting better.

Goalies should get a lot of work tonight. The forwards playing are very underwhelming.

Yes I am. I'm just trolling Eagles fans cause I like to troll Eagles fans. I actually agree that ND should no longer be employed on this team. He is too effing slow! Of course, I don't know what their options are. Just another lingering gift that our buddy Chuckles left us.

I guess it’s just my opinion. Ive played at levels where I’ve seen first hand what the role is and what it brings. Is it different from then to now? Yes…do I think all lineups around the NHL need that guy? No. Do I think you need toughness in your line ….yes, of course, the game hasn’t changed that much.….would it be preferable to still have a guy like Wayne Simmonds? Of course. But that’s part of the dilemma…do you want guys like Coots having to be the one to jump in ?
Again it’s just my opinion….to you and Hellow not a very good one.

- landros 2

Yes, I do want a player like Couturier to jump in. Or Seeler, or Hathaway or Laughton. Because it might happen a handful of times in a season. When Deslauriers is on the ice, the other team scores 63% of the goals and he played 60 games last season. It can be just your opinion and you have a right to it. There just isn't anything to support it.

well ND will not be the one "jumping" in as he wouldn't be on the ice with MM.

maybe they can trade one of the avs or oilers picks for tom wilson....

they can put Hathaway out there on Michkovs line every once in a while. I agree with most that ND is not necessary, however, if I am playing the Rangers against that moron... I might want ND in the lineup.

Lots of offense in that lineup. PP should be good. LOL Going to get a good look at defenseman defending and goaltending.

That's the lineup I want to see for the rest of preseason. I don't need to see Michkov anymore...until it matters in the season.

No stupid injuries and no players looking exhausted when the season starts.

Not at his role. He does not stink at all. Now if you want to play him more then 6-7 minutes a night..then I get it.
- landros 2

The problem is the Flyers have at least 3 young players that should make this team, Lycksell, Brink and Andrae, and they just will not have the spots with ND on the team. The Flyers need to waive ND, so they can start the season with 13 fowards and 8 defenseman.

Really need to judge not by total ice time but by ES ice time. If we look at last years Cup champs in Florida. The low minute ES ice time regular forwards averaged between 9 and 10 minutes per game. Their leader for major penalties was Jonah Gadfovich with 10. For the runner up Edmonton Oilers. Their bottom forwards averaged between 8 and 10 minutes per game. Their major leader was Corey Perry with 4. For the Rangers, their low minutes players averaged between 10 and 11 minutes and their major leader was Rempe with 6 but he only played 17 games. After that it was 4. For Dallas, their low minute forwards also averaged between 10 and 11 minutes a game and their major leader only had 2 fights! They went to the conference finals.

When you look at "goons" like Deslauriers. How many of his fights are actually fights that were due to protecting a player? Not many. Most are just staged fights with outer tough guys in a Richard measuring contest. No value at all to the team or the game.
For the few handful of times, there are other players that can handle it if a player like Michkov is being pushed around.

I'll remind you that when Nik Deslauriers was on the ice, the other team scored 63% of the goals. Horrendous.

- MJL

And even in this pre-season, ND can't keep up with the play. Briere has got to waive him, no one is picking him up and even if they did, who cares?

Who is Andrae beating out? I don't even think he beats out Johnson right now. He hasn't looked that good, pretty average and average doesn't win jobs.

Going to the pre-season game Tuesday night in Boston. With this lineup tonight, I bet the Flyers are going with a strong lineup on Tuesday, good for me.

Not sure what you are watching or even if you are watching. Andrae has had a very good camp and clearly is ready for the NHL. The Flyers can start with 8 defenseman.

The Flyers have plenty of tough players, they don't need a ND in their lineup. Even Torts benched him down the stretch last season because it was clear he was killing them. Lycksell or Brink should not have to sit one second because of Nick freak'n Deslauriers. The game is so much faster now than it was even 5 years ago, Nick just can't keep up. I can see him on the ice now, "You .. Come here so I can beat you up! I'm tired of chasing you all over the ice!"

They did that last season, not a fan of it. Do you want Andrae to sit on the bench or play? Having 8 D men would dictate that he sits for some games
