Should be an interesting month to see how the Ivan and Kolosov perform.

- Bill despite Ivan having a 2-year contract are you sold on him being at least a capable NHL backup? Are the Flyers despite the commitment?

- Have you heard of any arrangements with Kolosov in terms of him possibly going back to Russia by a certain date?

- From reading reports doesn't look like Ollie did much to help himself in terms of a roster spot.

- Andrae was inconsistent.

Time to see who's going to make the team, and who's not.

These final preseason games are probably going to be used to "tune up" the regular roster and get them up to game speed. IOW, with a few exceptions, I'm thinking this will probably (mostly) be the regular season players. With a few exceptions, of course.

I know it is preseason but man I continue to be dumbfounded that this team needs Laughton and Peohling in the same lineup. I feel Laughton has done nothing and I actually enjoy watching Richard's speed. Could he be a fit in the bottom 6 and you move Laughton.

Also seeing some teams be hit with injuries on the back end(LA) I wonder if Risto becomes and option from someone.

2 thoughts on Loughton.
1. DB over valued him and could not work out a trade
2. No one wanted him

Exactly who are the Flyers playing Thursday night….The Devils had their 1rst practice in Europe this morning. Pretty sure they won’t have a league mandated amount of NHL guys playing in that one.

I think there's some concern about Fedotov. He's looked just OK -- no more than that -- on the ice so far.

Lycksell will make the team if they carry 14 forwards on the opening roster (assuming Luchanko does not get the 9-game stint).

Andrae has has a good camp overall but with York and Drysdale as locks (and Andrae being waiver exempt), he won't make the roster.

or the flyers have zero intentions of wanting to trade him is the more likely scenario. we all saw what the co-gm said about him.

I would most likely say #1 but I think GMDB would have to be blown away for him to move Laughts. Culture guy for better or worse.

pretty sure those min veteran restrictions are for the home team to throw a bone to the season ticket holders who are forced to pay for that nonsense

Ollie will then get sent down in 10 days after he doesn't play!!!

Has Andrae outplayed Zamula in your opinion? Have they shopped Zamula at all?

I was at the 1st game against Boston and thought Ollie looked really good. Cates, not so much. Have not seen much out of Cates so far in the preseason. Did not get to see last nights game so maybe he was better.

I imagine Zamula is not going anywhere for the time being w MM39 in the house.

No. Zamula has been the better of the two in camp.

I think they move him in the right scenario, but prob does not make sense unless you get a 2nd rounder+. We have no idea what was really offered for him in the past. These reporters are hacks these days. Also, there is no rush to trade anyone right now unless they get an offer for Risto...

You're getting caught up in a pre season trap. Richard's is not a full time NHL player.

Its preseason, non of the regulars are going 100%. Its just about getting in game shape. Only guys going 100% are the ones with something to prove.

Laughton is a good 3rd line C. Flyers Keep him because there is no one better right now. Luchenko will take his spot within the next 1-2 years. The question then is does he become a 4th line or get moved. Also Richard is not better.

People keep going on about Briere not moving Laughton for a 1st but that was 100% a rumour and not confirmed. I doubt anyone offered a 1st for a guy like Laughton

Exactly as expected. Andrae was a player that Briere mentioned as a reason as to why they didn't draft Buium. Andrae is so good that he won't make the team. Flyers are gonna Flyer.

Why is Fedotov trying to look over players when screened? I know he is 11 feet tall, but there is no way he is gonna be able to get back down to the butterfly in the nhl that quickly. His height advantage is actually while going down and still being able to block the top of the net. I think he needs more time.

Why did Buium drop that far in the first place? Most mock drafts had him between 6 and 8ish. I think Button had him at 8. He was as high as 5th in the spring. Must be some concerns there.

your opinion on Laughton, by all accounts he didn't add much value last season (except PK), add you have Ryan P and it seems redundant and you are holding an asset and blocking a younger player. How do you see it? Will Laughton bounce back?
