To reiterate: if things fall off the rails in Buffalo this month, there is some chatter making the rounds of a GM change. My understanding is the Sabres have someone in mind for the position, but that doesn’t mean Kevyn Adams will be shown the door. The only thing I’ve really heard that’s somewhat similar I guess to what Dave laid out in this article is a succession plan type thing near the end of last season\.

I also would be stunned if Adams is in trouble early in the season\. It would have to go unbelievably bad to not see out the season at the least\.

You know I am not an Adams fan, yet at the same time he has done some nice things rebuilding the Hockey Ops Team since the purge. He isn't a great GM as he hasn''t been able to close much needed deals to move the roster forward. But he has created a decent Hockey Ops Dept, now he needs to promote/empower his staff to take the next steps while he identifies suitable talent to add to the team to continually upgrade it.

That opportunity was last year. They overpaid to bring in a 3C, the spot they had been grooming him for for years. It's going to take a lot more to earn a spot higher in the lineup, or injuries.

Goaltend8ng overall hasn't been the problem...would we want a 2 more critical saves in those loses, yes...but the results were not the sole fault of the goalies. Offense needs to score, when the Goalies anre doing their job...period.
