From eklund on the home page...
On Ehlers....
I continue to hear he will be moved this season...and Buffalo and Toronto are very much looking into this..The Sabres especially... - Ratsreign
And it could fit under the salary cap if the Leafs send Kampf, Liljegren and Reaves back to Winnipeg.
I sincerely doubt Buffalo could top that offer. |

Tage is built like a wet paper bag. Hes doesn't need to be throwing 3 hits a game.
The highest hitting team, Bruins, dont have Pasta and Marchand throwing 3 a game. Marchand 1per. Pasta .5.
2 hits a game from every forward would put us way in first per game. Its just not realistic. - DirtyDan
How do the official stat keepers even classify a “hit”? I’ve seen game where a guy hits everything that moves and the stats will say he had 2 hits. Then last year’s playoffs it seemed every game had like 50+ hits per team. |

Fun fact: you can sort hits to show home and away on the NHL stats page.
What it reveals is there are wild variations of what constitutes a "hit" from arena to arena.
This may have changed, but it used to be they would pay college kids $50 a game to do the hit counts. |

Have you actually watched the Sabres?
We dump it in and NEVER win the puck battle. It’s been like that for years
The opposing team usually has a very easy break out pass.
“Dump and chase” is also an outdated method to playing hockey fyi - Sabretooth9
Guess we shouldn't want to do what can win you a Cup. We don't have that player who can lug the puck in, we do have speed. |

They would hang up the phone for that offer. Liligren is the only future there.

Last year, the Leafs were #1 overall in hits. #1 overall in hits at home.
#16 in hits on the road.

What the fvck is an E3 - DirtyDan
What is the E-System (e1, e2, e3, etc.)?
The E-System was devised with the intelligent hockey fan in mind as a way for Eklund to give subtle clues to rumors that are posted, as well as to gauge the likelihood of a rumor turning into an actual trade or free agent signing.
E1 - This is a rumor that comes from a single reliable source not in any way directly connected to the players or teams involved.
E2 - This rumor is simply more than one reliable sources not in any way directly connected to the players or teams involved and not connected to each other. It does not have to equate to two E1's. It could be several E1's.
E3 - This rumor comes from a single source with ties somehow to the players or teams involved.
E4 - This rumor comes from more than one source with ties to the players or teams involved.
E5 - This rumor comes from source telling Eklund the deal is 100% done and just has not been announced yet. |

That'd be a nice cheap package for you guys. A lot less than what was being reported in the asking price during the offseason.
We can offer prospects and picks which your team does not have though.
Joki and Krebs as about an equal start compared to your offer. Ryan Johnson could be had. 1 of a plethora of prospects.
Unless they're super high on Liljegren you guys have not much else to offer |

Well, that's a given. Close 2nd to a Conga Line. What about the Sabres lines though? Anyone know if JJP back on L1? |

I thought I read he was skating with Tuch and Tage.
I was thinking they were bringing him back to play with Quinn and Cozens due to Kulich practicing on line 2.

Greenways start to the season probably has upped his trade value and is more likely a piece to go the other way, rather than Joker. I'd be OK with sending Greenway + Krebs + RJo for Ehlers (not extended), sound about right? or does anyone feel otherwise? |

At the trade deadline, or leading up to it, wouldn't another team beat that offer?
Especially with how much teams seem to prefer a 1st round pick so they can select their own preferred prospect? |

Power looked like their best D-man against Florida. He plays a simple game so well. - DirtyDan
It looks like dahlin is our third best d this year after power and Byram.
I always thought power got a bad rep because he plays “boring” |

Just my thought they require more on the D-end going into the future. Joker is about = to Liljegren. Add RyJo in there. Krebs replaces Ehlers (in the lineup). They're winger heavy with their prospects. Maybe they prefer Greenway. Wouldnt deter me if they would rather him. |

No. Byram isn't it.
I'd honestly consider trading him for Ehlers but then I need RyJo to come up from Roch to play with Power. Im also not keen on giving Ehlers an 8 year extension at whatever $ amount he'd be asking for. |

Solely based my post on eklund post that Ehlers trade is a possibility right now and its likely Jets would want players that can play now and in the future. Greenway is UFA just like Ehlers who they can move at trade deadline if they aren't a playoff team, Krebs and RJo are both team controlled players early in their NHL careers. I don't get the feeling they would be looking for prospects/picks at this point in the season. If they move him at the deadline then yes they would likely want 1st rd pick. |
