More poop. A team that can't even lose right. |

Sabres lose yet again...they rehired their loser coach that they fired. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Pegula is an absolute idiot and will always be remember as one. |

The bold below remains a mystifying decision this past offseason about their comfort level re: the makeup of their defensemen.
The above began when they traded Casey for a mobile, puck moving LHD when they already had two #1 overall picks sunk into the exact same position.
>>> Through the first 6 games the Sabres have -4.66 GSAx
We’ll see if they can find that elite goaltending again. But if they can’t, they might be cooked
Would also like to add they added ZERO t6 defenseman over the offseason
>>> internal models might vary a little bit, but last season the Sabres had the NHLs 3rd best goaltending
Their goalies also combined for 5.2 WAR, which is the most by a Sabres team since 2009-10
Imo it would be wise to prepare for a slight-moderate decline next season

The true leader of this team is not on the roster yet.
I am once again stating the roster needs a blockbuster trade, and Adams isn't capable, now, at the deadline, nor during the offseason.
My prediction of 87 pts is a wee bit high, like maybe 16 too high. |

An owner who actually cares would be having a seriously simple discussion with his GM, and President of Hockey Operations.
> Why is this roster underperformed?
>> It's only been 6 games. They will improve. Give them time. We like our players.
> Why do you like players so much who have consistently not stepped up?
>> ...
> You're fired. |

Alarming? You think?
>>> Quinn was a healthy scratch for this game to make room for Kulich. Ruff pointed to puck management as an area Quinn needs to improve. He had an offensive-zone turnover that led to a goal in a loss to the Penguins on Wednesday.
The fact Quinn is a healthy scratch after just five games is alarming. He was supposed to be Buffalo’s breakout player this season after a fully healthy offseason. When healthy last season, he produced five-on-five offense at a healthy rate and had 19 points in 27 games. Now he has 1 point in five games and is minus-four.
We haven’t seen much speed or playmaking from him, and he’s been careless with the puck. Maybe sitting will snap Quinn out of his early-season slump. The Sabres better hope so, because they banked a lot of their offseason on his improvement.

It’s almost like expecting linear improvement for young non-franchise level players is dumb. |

The reason for the fail upwards is obvious.

Calling it now Adams is not making it back from the road trip if we lose to Chicago.
Think the writing is on the wall either way that hes not making it through the season. |

I'm with you, have been advocating for a PoHO for several years now... More specifically Mike Gillis. |

This is not the player's fault necessarily.
This is not Lindy's fault.
This is not even Kevin Adams fault although it may very well seem that it is .
This falls on the shoulder of an owner. An owner who is incompetent, who doesn't work with businessman and smart hockey operations to run, such as we had with Pat LaFontain many many years ago now.
He bought it because it was a toy, a child hood dream .
Nothing will change until he either sells or gets a hockey ops through which he has no decision. |
