There are 3 young guys in the lineup. The players developing an identity are all gone in 2 years.

This seems rushed by a year or so. Maybe they didn’t want to expose Bedard to two years of absolutely bad hockey? Moved up the timeline? or maybe hoping top 5 still while building a bit of an indentity and culture?

- bhawks2241

You bring in vets to build that culture, but it doesn't mean it stops with them cold turkey. 2 years from now we very likely still have Bedard, TT, Bertuzzi, Jones, Vlasic, Allan, and possibly Kurashev, Reichel, Richardinson, and maybe even Hall who expressed an interest in staying previously during media interview.

Utah May be better than expected . Just went into MSG and beat the Rangers 6-5 in OT. 3-0-0 with 2 OT wins on the road.

Savoie and organization Rockford contract dman Fitzgerald with last two goals. Icehogs 26-15 shot advantage after period two

Deeper talented roster this season. Real centers. Lots of experience for an AHL defense - well most AHL teams do have some experienced members on the blueline but tonight Strand, Phillips, Crevier, Korchinski headline a group which likely adds Arty and maybe Allen. Weeks in net is less than Stauber but Comesso is the main goaltender

Utah hockey team beat the NYR in OT. You wouldn’t be wrong to say they are riding high and pumped in their new home and with an improved lineup. Honestly I view them as a middle of the pack team. Many teams middle of the pack can get hit and have enough talent to beat anyone in the league on a given night.

They are young and have half of the forward group are young guns who as legitimate talent, have gained some experience - albeit not a lot- so when backed up with descent goaltending and an improved blueline crew…..they could be a playoff team

I will include Crouse and Hayton as legitimate BTW although perhaps only Crouse is likeliest to get 20 plus goals

Perhaps the Blackhawks could mirror this team in a couple years if some forwards and dmen come along

I know the Hawks legs are going to go at about the 10 minute mark in the 2nd period, but i have to admit it's nice not to see our team playing in their own end for 15 minutes a period.

...well you don't often see Hawks' player check someone into their bench (leastwise not from the other team).... and Maroon just did that.

Good lord, that guy is a tank. :D

Defensively they’re a bit more loose tonight, need to tighten that up the next two periods or they’ll get burned by this Oilers team.

I think that has more to do with the Oilers team speed, it's ridiculous, on a positive note the kiddies won 4-1 tonight.

Yeah they’re fast, one day the Hawks will have Moore, Lardis and other speedsters in the lineup, can’t wait.

Bedard not an NHL player? Lol come on. I’ll assume that was red font.
- bhawks2241

Of course it's red font. It's the kid's second year in the league and he just turned 19. He's a phenom but still has some of the finer points of the game to figure out.

Two games in and you're second guessing him as a center...which, ok, whatever and then you have other posters bagging on him for his effort, his offense and his defense.

Maybe let's let him enjoy his perceived sophomore slump and then we can all pile on.

Wasn’t judging based on 2 games and that wasn’t a knock on his play at all. He seems to play much more like a wing most of the time.

Im sure you just scared them

The point of the exercise was criticism. They lack professionalism. Rocky turned things around and now management is back in the toilet. If they don't get a cable deal soon, I think people will just start forgetting about this team.

Like someone said, he'll never be Toews. I see a center who can improve on draws. Just my .02...

Three games in and he hasn’t scored a goal. I’m beginning to question his heart.

That pass he made on the PP was so good. He made it look easy too. Drew the PK forward all the way over to him.

How many times do we see the hawks get burned when forwards cross on the rush. Love seeing the Hawks score off it.

Bedard prob happy someone else on his line can carry the puck up ice with speed.

Turbo might just have a career year offensively playing in this role.

Big fan of the crisscross move- they ought to introduce it to the PP rushes every now and then... one of the really nice positive things that international hockey, and in particular the Soviets, brought to the game. Those Soviet teams were awesome at it.
