Showcase Lindgren for a future trade

100%. He won't be on this team next season, so try to get something for him at this point. He costs too much, always hurt, and will want another raise on his next contract.

Laviolette indicated Ryan Lindgren will make his season debut tonight paired with Victor Mancini.

When do they need to send someone down to make room for Lindgren? I know Mancini is waiver exempt and Jones is not. What is Ruhwedal's status?

Is it possible they are giving Mancini one more game before sending him down and then plan on using Jones going forward?

Definitely giving Mancini the max number of games they can to see what they have in him. We have a good idea what Jones is, but Mancini is still an unknown, so I think it makes sense how they are handling this.

Yep I'm a big fan of Manicini so far and am in the camp that this should be Lindgren's last year with the team based on the contract he will likely be looking for, but I definitely don't see them trading Lindgren this year. I'm good with giving Mancini and Jones their shot to compete for the 6D spot and hopefully both of them will be with the team full time next year. Based on waivers the likelihood is that Jones is the 6D this year with Mancini playing in Hartford until another injury happens.

Yep, exactly. Worst case scenario, we trade Lindgren's rights on June 30 for a 5th rounder or something and lose him to free agency. Not the end of the world, it'll be like we've got our own rental for the playoff run that didn't cost an asset at the TDL.

I say that if they don't win this year, trade them all. Except Mika, he can't be traded. He will be 65 when his contract expires.
Then we can has a line of Rempe-Mika-who ever they find shoveling poop behind MSG.

I think its more likely he'd be included as a piece in a larger trade than him being sent away now for a mid level pick they would probably use at the deadline anyway

they were always going to play Lindgren when he got healthy this is no crazy situation out of nowhere

- jimbro83

I always thought jones would go to SJ in a trade and run their PP

I’ll be pretty upset once he isn’t a Ranger. I realize I’m in the minority there, but he’s the blood and guts and glue guy we haven’t had since Girardi. I really don’t care that’s he’s hurt all the time it actually adds more likability for him from me lol

it makes my heart pitter patter when he’s bleeding

I love the guy too. I just won't be that upset if he isn't a Ranger anymore after this season.

Bit of a last dance vibe this year... If we don't win it all, big changes to the roster time.

They obviously like him, but that doesn't mean that they can't look at it objectively and know that the right decision is to move on from him. Especially with Mancini emerging.
