Fido is using it

I know Bergevin used to call his players that way as well, so maybe thats where it started?

- deadpoulet

oh that was Pierre Gauthier, he used to talk about monsieur Markov lol

yup, and besides that line with Evans and Anderson is doing well.

I guess Gally could be used as a sparkplug on a very temporary basis.

- Pat1993

Yeah dont touch that line

And no, Dvorak is not a top 6 forward

no

also why not take the opportunity to seperate Dach and Newhook for a while

Caufield Suzuki Slaf
Heineman Dach Gallagher
Newhook Dvorak Armia
Anderson Evans Kapanen

- Xizord

Dach was on the wing this morning next to Suzuki and Goal. Kappy was centering the 2nd line

tks Hugo, good blog as usual.

I think your expectations for Matheson are too high. yes he had lots of points last season, he's a great skater... but he still finished the season at -30 or something, way way way worse than the other dmen. I think Savard was -6.
on a good team he's a 2nd pairing dman, unless you can pair him with a stud like Weber was in his prime. Guhle is not there yet.
Matheson doesn't look to be 100% though. I know he had a dayoff last week, but it's easy to see he doesn't skate as well as he usually does.

as for the forward group, yeah. patience. I'd give more icetime to the kids. our young dmen do well, why not give the same opportunity to Heineman and Kapanen?
looks like our goalies will have to save the day often again this year lol

I think Matheson, when playing his best, is good enough to be this team's #1 defenseman. Is he an ideal #1? Of course not. But we need him to play up to last year's level if we are to survive defensively.

I wouldn't be againts that. I said it before, I like the Evans line, but I would prefer them to be the 4th line. so fine with me, but switch Gally and Kapanen.
- fidopro

I'm not saying its a bad idea, but realistically I dont see them promoting the 2 kids at the same time

I think Gallagher is more effective now with reduced minutes + some PP time.

Not sure I want to see him in the 15+ minute range.

- Mashadar

meh, ride him while he hot then trade him !

A Leafs fan, living in Laval, playing in the Senators colors.

It's like he's trying to annoy me.
