If the Flyers were smart, they would look at two very young wingers and think that we have to get these guys going offensively and get them some confidence and let them develop offensively. The most skilled offensive center the Flyers have, is Frost right now. Which is why I agree that he should play with Foerster and Michkov. Flyers, especially Tortorella are way too focused on two way play and the defensive side of the puck. Let them play offensively, take risks, learn what works and what doesn't in the NHL. Don't stifle offense. Unfortunately, that is what Tortorella is famous for.

I thought I saw Frost playing wing on Laughton's line in the 3rd period last game. With the mad scientist switching up the lines and the probability of Jett being sent down, I can see a lineup of Poehling-Laughton-Couts-Cates at center for multiple games in the future.

Where else is he going to get the GM and POH to cater to him? Carry his bags and sticks, fly over all his relatives, etc? He knows what kind of operation this is. To bad they couldn't get Torts to drive the limo. I would love to see a pic of Torts as a limo driver.

tk currently is a better offensive player than foerster for MM to play with.

Perhaps what you fail to recognize is at this point, Poehling is a better option at 1C than Couts is. Surely Poehling is not close to Couts on faceoffs, but a this point Poehling is a better skater and has a better chance to keep up with play. Look, its early in the season, Torts will experiement and see how it works. We all know Torts will give it about 1 period before he changes it up if he doesn't like it.

Poehling had one decent game…he’s been brutal the rest of the time and taken a couple of dumb penalties to boot. Yes he’s faster and a better skater then Coots but has no where near the hockey IQ. I’m fine with the experimenting …I think that’s the coach’s job. But even an injured coots gives you more then Poehling ever will at both ends of the ice.

Poehling is fine as a 4th line center. That's where he needs to stay. I believe that Cates is a better winger than center all around but he is still a better center than Poehling is.

Oh really? Because in your world Cates has shown that he deserves to play with Michkov

Torts can't help himself. He has lines set for an entire week in training camp between the last preseason game and the opening game in Vancouver. Then before the ice is even scraped up he is already switching lines and rearranging things.

The guy can't get out of his own way. He has no patience. He talks about waiting to evaluate individual players for "ten games" but then fails to take his own advice by just leaving them alone and letting them play for more than a period.

Now it's this hodgepodge, blindfolded, throw names against the wall and see what sticks lineup, where players don't know which end is up, they can't develop any chemistry, and some are playing out of position.

Just leave it alone. He is coaching like he is trying to win a Stanley Cup in October. In the meantime he just looks like an amateur who has no idea what he is doing.

Andrae is the reason that the Flyers didn't draft Buium. What an embarrassing statement that was by DB. Sometimes it's best not to say anything.

Whats he gonna say that he rather not do business with cutter agent, and do ypu blame him after how he advised cutter to ghost the Flyers.

Tippett has not been a good fit with Michkov so far.

ANY other option than playing a marginal 4C with your prized rookie offensive player. He should put him with Frost and LEAVE him with Frost.

It makes no sense for the short at center Flyers to have a healthy Jett watching the game. They just had 2 days off. Having Jett watch Poehling play #1 center makes about as much sense as having a healthy Andrae forced to sit and watch EJ instead of playing hockey for a week.

So is frost, in all honesty it doesn't matter who you put on number 1 c at this moment non are good enough, hopefully that will be fix once we fall bottom 5.

But if I had to choose i rather have coots as a number 1 center over all the current options

At this point, it really doesn’t matter which centers play where. I question a lot of decisions Torts makes, especially lately, but even the best coach in the league can fix this mess. When comparing Sean Couturier to Ryan Poehling or Scott Laughton, many will make the argument that Couturier is better than both? Truth is, Couturier WAS better than both. Right now Sean Couturier is offer only as much as the two and being overpaid to do so. Nobody should be enjoying watching these options play.
