Huh? Did you notice that the guy he passed it to was stationary. He wasn't an outlet. The play 100% there was to hold onto the puck and sort things out since there was no pressure coming from the opposition. Bantam A hockey stuff right there. Where was Zamula gonna go with that puck anyway? The Caps were just hanging out at center ice. They needed to regroup before the ensuing attack.
- Phillywhiteout

I agree, even if Zamula didn't change there. He was stationary and if he had received the puck, he would've been pounced on and all he would've likely been able to do is to just throw it up the wall or send it back to Drysdale. Against a neutral zone forecheck and a likely passive trap situation. You have to have all 5 players involved in the controlled breakout. Can't with players changing.

They are a young team. Gonna get a stud center and kind of stud defender in next spring's draft. They have a stud goalie lighting up the KHL like a Christmas tree. Trade Farabee and Frost for a center and a viable (young) defender. Let's do this!!

Once the organization realizes the only path out of this is the draft table, the truth shall set them free.

So the light at the end of the tunnel is an assumption on what they're going to get in the upcoming draft? Do you recall when the Flyers drafted a stud center with the #2 pick of the draft? Or when they drafted a stud defenseman with the 7th overall pick in the draft?

Why do you want to trade Farabee and Frost?

They haven't realized that in decades. Why are they going to now?

Because, I don't get stuck in the past, I believe Briere knows the path to success is through the draft. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. You're welcome to your own opinion, even if it's wrong, it's a free country.

Why do you think history is gonna automatically repeat itself? That #2 pick was just a bad situation that turned into a disaster. Could have happened to anyone. Provorov looked like a potential Norris candidate at one point and then fell off a cliff for some reason. Farabee just looks like a disgruntled player to me at this point and Frost just doesn't have it. Should have been a no brainer tying goal the other night, but he was afraid to take one more step to the front of the net for fear of getting hit. He's soft...

I’m sure they’ll dig around on a couch in Allentown and pull out one of those stud centers and find a stud Dmsn in the back of the fridge

I guess I have to explain. The point of bringing those two players up is to point out that just drafting players, does not automatically mean you have acquired a stud player. Not every high pick develops to that level and then there is the time it takes to get to that level for most players drafted. So I don't see that being a light at the end of the tunnel. The reality is in that case, that the light has not even been energized or turned on yet.

If Farabee is disinterested and Frost doesn't have it, how are they going to get what they need for them?

Frost is not a soft player.

How many players on this so called young team will be here in 3/4 years? Many people falling for this young team spin.

Doesn’t mean much if the young team lacks a lot a talent.

The POHO has already come out and said they're just waiting to get some cap space to start making some moves. Their comments, their history all suggest that there is no way this team is going to be married to the draft. They have Michkov and they will escalate as soon as they can.

Both guys obviously possess talent and Farabee is coming off his most productive season. It's called needing a change of scenery. That's why they pay GM Danny Boy the big bucks!

I'd say 5 to 10 most likely.

People on here will lose their minds with this statement but they are not that far off. It looks bleak because the slotting is all wrong and what they need is hard to get. Michkov looks like a future superstar. Zavragin has the plausible upside of a top tier goalie. Add another elite talent at center and or defense and they just have to fill in the rest.

Hitting on another top 10 pick this season would be huge.

Luchanko, Foerster, Michkov, York and prolly Tippett (yeah, I know he hasn't looked good this year). That's 5 right off the top of my head.

Your comments were disparaging of both players. If that's the case, how can you expect to get the value you need for them. If Frost is soft as you say, why is a GM going to give the Flyers value for him?

Because a GM sees the ability of both and thinks that they may have a lineup more suitable for their talents than the Flyers current lineup. Where there is talent there should be interest. I'm not disparaging either one talent wise. They both have the ability to be 20 goal scorers and Frost is a good playmaker.

I root for losses. It's the bitter medicine this team needs to get back on track.

At the same time I root for individual Flyers to play well.

It's a pretty weird place to be in.

Look at all these tards trying to bail out Torts and blaming Drysdale!

I don't know who is more incompetent...the organization or the fanbase. I guess they go hand in hand and that's why they have blown for so long.

I know people are doubling down so they don't look like silly, but JFC. Why would Drysdale hold on to it? That's idiotic. He has an outlet and the team swinging to go up the ice. So if Torts didn't yell for the last second change we are not talking about this. Drysdale is still sending it to his outlet and it moves up the ice.

- Glak18

This is hysterical.

Defense 101: don’t pass into a line change.

Drysdale had the entire ice in front of him with no pressure. Hold the puck 2 seconds and break out as a group.

If Frost is a good playmaker and has the ability to score 20 goals then why are we trading him? I think you're caught up in dichotomy so to speak of you don't like a player and don't think he's good but them turn around and think you can get value for them in a trade. They're either a good player or they're not.

Briere has three 1st round picks in 2025 and three 2nd round picks, clearly this is an important part of the future for him. Is it the only plan, of course not, but again, clearly it's an important part of the path going forward....forrest for the trees!!

The last time the Flyers had three 1st round picks was 1978. It's happening brother.
