I'm positive you could find a shutdown pair without having to pair up your most suspect defensively offensive defenseman. Even more so with Myers in the lineup.

McCabe, Tanev, Myers up the right.
Benoit and McCabe played hard defensive minutes last year, could improve on that by going Benoit + Tanev.

It's definitely not needed, and you hate to see them taking the long way to find out Rielly is a complete defensive liability without a decent partner. The whole world knows it.
