I would like to see MM have a solid game. It’s to early for the rookie wall syndrome.
He is definitely still adjusting to the league and growing pains are expected.

That may be setting the bar high for this group how about instead of a hat trick just a goal?

Why are you suggesting he’s hitting a wall? He needs to smarten up with his decision making, he forces some things that have almost no chance of happening. Live to fight another day. And just an ounce of defensive awareness would be appreciated.

Maybe he is tired from playing back-to-back games?

Its kind of sad to think Brink needs to keep generating offense at a consistenf rate or will be replaced by Deslauriers, ASAP. 23 yr old fwd roughly .5 PPG not a lot of PP time, yet off to the pressbox you go when there is a hint of a rough patch.

That stuff will come, as the year goes and with proper coaching.
And as far as trying things that has a low chance of working that's what rookies do with extremely high talent, they figure out what works and what doesn't and adjust.

I'm completely fine with how he is playing.

There is already enough anecdotal evidence out there that shows what Torts sees, and what is actually happening, don't usually jibe. On both the good and bad sides. And I think he wants players to get in his face and tell him that he is wrong. It's a very weird way to be. It breeds resentment, distrust, and is mostly counterproductive.

Me too. Though I think we got an idea from the Nasty Knuckles podcast by what he didn't say. You could read it on his face IMO.

I'm not willing to go that far yet, so many players love playing for him.
The ones who didn't have proven over time as lazy and or babies.

Am I saying he the best coach obviously not.

Remember eventually danny will hit the button and say I haven't had the chance to bring in my coach.

No reason todo it yet until after this season, which could buy danny a little longer of a leash

Personally I would at season end, bring trots in front office ( because he does have a knack for figuring out the divas players) and hire coach Q as my next coach.

Torts ego now is worse than ever. And most of those guys that say that are on teams with him that have success. When you suck. And a guy is playing mind games and making decisions that make no sense it’s a totally different story

The team needs to stop taking Michkov out of the game by taking bad penalties. I’d also like to see the puck more on his stick on the power play. Most importantly, when Michkov does play, he needs to be less passive.

I’m not suggesting he hit a walll. In fact I am saying it’s too early for that to happen imo. I am just noticing he is having some difficulty along the boards and sometimes navigating the ozone with the puck.
I am curious to see how fast he learns what he can and cannot do.
I don’t think he was that good during the Boston game.
It’s probably unfair but with his talent it’s easy to want more and forget he is only 19.

I couldn’t care less what Couturier thinks of Torts. Players budding heads with the coach is nothing new. When Robert Esche believed he might not be the starter of the 2006 players, he whined to the media and took a shot at hitch. I think many remember when Bill Barber was coach, the entire dressing room felt like Barber didn’t know what he was doing, which led to his firing. Even though it was Keith Primeau who spoke out, for some reason Mark Recchi was blamed and despised as the ringleader. Torts does make a lot of questionable decisions but I’m not seeing him as a coach so powerful, he’s able to manipulate and control everyone around him. These guys aren’t here to be beer buddies.

Not true lots of retire plsyers love him and former players.

Do I think he walks a very fine line absolutely 💯 more then I would like. But iv seen coach who are pushover and the players run the show.
Toronto for example Matthew's as great as a player is a diva( side note my kid work at Wonderland and 2 years ago Matthew's was throwing a crying fit because him and his friends couldn't have the ride to themselves)
Toronto players for years warm up to lady gaga

Like ppl these days are 2 soft and worrying about feelings.
Example frost why not push him and see how much you can get.

Can you push him to be a second line center or is he a true 3rd c

I don't care about players feelings, it's a job just like the real world where you get terrible supervisor and have to deal with it and do your job

It has absolutely nothing to do with players feelings. It has to do with not dressing the best lineup because he’s the smartest guy in the room.

At this moment are we in a rebuild?

This is the time to figure out what you have and push guys, bench guys to drive a point home and mold them to your future roster
