Can you two just please STFU for one (frank)ing day? - MBFlyerfan
This. When every new issue that comes up is another vehicle for re-engaging on the same issues, it just gets old. |

Looks like Roy is gonna be fired for Isles. Terrible coach. Wahlstrom on PP1, 0 points this season. Brock Nelson? PP2 because why not put your best goal scorer on a PP unit without any of your good players?
No reason Pageau or Wahlstrom should be on that Top PP over Nelson. This would be like taking Konecny off of PP1 in favour of Poehling...... |

What am I looking at…..just kidding. - landros 2
And I think the players should have different roles. Poehling should be a bottom 6 center, 4th line preferred, and thus he should win more faceoffs and have less scoring chances for and against. With Frost, I understand he may give up more scoring chances against, but we need him to drive possession and scoring chances much more. I believe if Frost was playing better, Tippet and Foerster would also start scoring more. The question is, can Frost play better. He certainly has shown he can in spurts, but not consistently. Also, not all faceoffs are created equally, within game and game to game. Frost's faceoff percentage my be above 50%, but in the faceoffs that matter he has been underwhelming. In the end, the Flyers need better. If the Flyers were able to somehow develop or obtain a true 1C , that would push Couts down and improve things immensly. Then if Luchanko comes in next year as 2C, the Flyers would be right where they need to be. One thing I like about Columbus is they have tried to build a team the right way, focusing on center and defense. I think they are on the upswing. |

Poehling was awful the first 4 games, but as is Torts way, he gets a pass to get things worked out. To Poehling’s credit he has played better since. I’m actually fine with a guy like that on the 3rd line as well. It’s not his fault the Flyers have a team full of 3rd line types.
I think Luchanko should be allowed to develop for as long as it takes…that may mean he’s still two years away….until the Flyers can get some of these guys going they are going to struggle to win games.

Could not agree more. If it take more time so be it. Personally, I am not sold on Jett being a 2C yet and he needs a lot of work on the offensive side of the game. There should be no rush to get this kid in the NHL - this team is years away from competing. |

I have been saying this for a long time, MJL and I should do our own Flyers pre-game and post game pods, it would be pure entertainment. He could talk about stats since here didn't actually watch the game, and I will tell the listeners what actually happened. We can even get Torts as a guest and MJL can teach Torts about where the F2/F3 should be, while we all sit back and watch Torts punch him in the face. Who would not want to see that over and over again. - jd250
An example of your most recent comments are that I'm naive for believing that Charlie McAvoy is a top pairing defenseman and that the coaches and scouts that you talk to say otherwise. The other is that assists are another useless stat. I doubt anyone thinks you are capable of telling anyone what actually happened in a game.

Thank you for all your hard work Bill. I really loved your older format where you opined more on the team instead of the in depth game recaps. That should be taken as a compliment always appreciated your keen eye. Good luck on your future endeavors - Just5

Agreed. I posted in training camp that he should have one more year at least in junior and then some time in the a. Zero rush and it rarely hurts a player to spend more time in the a. |

Frost over his career has been a better defensive player than Poehling. Can you provide any data or proof whatsoever that Frost has been underwhelming in faceoffs that matter?

Invest time in his development and let his play dictate when he should make the NHL. Just really no rush for the kid to be thrown into a tough situation. |

Yes I watch the games. You should try it. So now are you saying the Flyers should dump Poehling and put Frost at 4C? His faceoffs would certainly improve. |

That you continue to claim that I don't watch the games, reflects on you not me. How you got from what I posted is implying or suggesting that, is hilarious. There is tons if room for criticism of Frost with his play to this point of the season but faceoffs is not one of them. He has improved significantly on faceoffs so far this season. Yet you continue to harp on it despite the facts that prove you wrong. That is a regular occurrence.

Assists can be very misleading. A goalie can get an assist, does that mean a goalie playing well offensively? Saying Frost leads a team that can't score because they have such poor puck support, in assists is laughable. Frost is not playing well, you have even admitted to that, so why defend him now? Frost is playing a very important position on this team, and so far he is failing .... Again!
As far as McAvoy, all I can say is I have my opinon and you have yours. I watch a lot more Bruins games than you do.

Frost in the center on the Flyers 1st PP unit, and this he takes very important faceoffs in that role. What I have seen is he has lost several first o-zone faceoffs resulting in lost possession and 30 seconds off the clock. He has also been thrown out of at least 4-5 faceoffs that I recall, leading to TK or Michov taking the draw, not what you want on the PP. What's funny is Michkov has won almost every one of the faceoffs he has taken so far. |

Your comments are absurd and ridiculous. The issue is that some want to scapegoat Frost while ignoring the poor play of others. For example, that Tippett has scored a whopping 1 goal and Frost has zero. My response was that Frost leads the team in assists. You responded that assists are another useless stat. It's a recurring theme of asinine statements made by you and a rejection of facts that don't suit your absurd rhetoric.
Now for your complete lack of common sense. You have no idea how many Bruins games I watch. You could live at the TD garden with a chair at center ice and you wouldn't know what you're looking at. McAvoy is not only widely considered a top pairing defenseman. He is widely considered a top 10 NHL defenseman and in his short career has already finished in the top 5 Norris trophy voting twice, 3 times in the top 10 and 5 times in the top 20. But you say hes not a top pairing defenseman and laughably posted that the coaches and scouts you talked to agree with you. LOL |

Do I seriously have to explain this to you. Frost has lost several PP faceoffs? You don't say? Do you realize that if your at 60% on faceoffs, that is elite? You lack common sense. Michkov has taken 14 faceoffs and lost 5. That isn't almost every one. LOL
