Ah so Tavares is a corpse at 34 (17pts so far) but you want to bring in a 36 year old mini troll?
ROR is only 33...so I stand corrected on my previous post....hes not over 35. - Fakepartofme

People dislike him cuz they’re (frank)ed. - Woderwick
I mean sens was being pretty glib - but JT is overpaid and slower. If you get him linemates that get him a bit more time and in Pacioretty and McMann we've seen some of that - physicality from the wing, solid forecheck and above average puck retrieval.
You know the classic adage - it's a game of milliseconds? It really is and any little bit of time that a solid forecheck or a good hit adds to that helps both him and Nylander. At least that's what I think. I was never that big of a fan of Bertuzzi. I thought he'd have a better forecheck or more speed, but I was really quite unimpressed. Before him you had Kerfoot or Jarnkrok . . or Galchenyuk. |

Per Chris Johnston
Auston Matthews is currently in Munich receiving treatment from a doctor he's worked with in the past, and is being accompanied by a team physician. The #leafs say there's no been no setback or change in his status.
Do we even know what’s wrong with him? - bryant
I did some googling to see if he has ever visited a doctor in Munich before. I came up with nothing, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
But falling down an internet rabbit hole, I found this from last playoffs:

I'm pretty sure Sensy was being tongue n cheek about Tavares being dead. Tavares's death is more of a Rare Jewel thang. |

JT knows more than anyone else in the Core 4, that this year is critical for him and the team. I think he's extra motivated and it shows. Besides it being a contract year, the Leafs core is at a crossroads. One or both of JT and Marner might not be back next year. Dubas was shown the door, then Keefe, now JT was stripped of the "C" - JT is smart enough to know what's what. Barring injuries, he will probably have the best season he's had in a long long time. I hope the Leafs don't waste that being Leafy.
If the goaltending holds up, I like the Leafs chances of getting past the second round. If they fail, then I don't think you'll be able to blame that on JT or his contract at the end of the day.

I think the NHL will investigate his signing as the NHL smells something funny. |

"Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly is investigating over suspected tampering. Daly has indicated that if Chicago is found guilty of tampering, he can't think of a punishment worse than simply making them honour Bertuzzi's contract." |

All joking aside, they need to just do what they used to do: allow agents and teams to talk in the week before July 1st, with no contracts allowed to be signed until July 1st at noon. |

That's crazy.
They're holding down a wild card right now (although that's also because they've played more games, but still). |

If the article were correct, there is an easy solution for it:
The Leafs gave up a 7th round pick for the rights to Chris Tanev.
To each of the offended teams the offending team should have to give up a draft pick that's at least the 6th round, but it sort of feels like it should be a 4th - something slightly more punitive than what teams typically pay for obtaining rights.
There's a right way to do it - and it costs you a 7th.
There's a wrong way to do it - and it costs you . . . .?
Because if it costs you nothing to break the rules and get what you want, then why does anyone pay the price for exclusive negotiating rights?
Don't get me wrong. This is the NHL where they have no concept of fairness, so I expect nothing to come of this.

It could be more than just their record. If I'm not mistaken, The Bruins are like -20 or something in goal differential. |

Well said and agree completely. Hopefully have to give the pick to the team they poached instead of just losing it
