Note to the folks signing up for the Hockeybuzzed reddit : I have no idea what the hell I am doing. Although I have used Reddit for years (not avidly), I have never used their moderator interface. So please be patient as I figger it out.

The group is set up where approval is needed to join and I have approved everyone who applied, but the group stats still say it only has one member, when it should be showing 4 or 5 by now. So, I am not sure WTF is going on.

To those who joined, or you able to post or do anything? Or am I not doing something right?

Some thoughts on the state of HockeyBuzz and the HockeyBuzzed subreddit.

I'm not a big Reddit guy, but it seemed like the quickest and easiest place to set up a presence for refugees from this site. If somebody can make something better, I will support that instead. In the meantime, we have *something* if this place goes down for good.

I get a sneaking feeling that we might be seeing the early death throes of this site. They dropped the fantasy league, and now half of the bloggers are suddenly leaving. Ek can't even be bothered to have a blogger for every team. Tampa has been without a blogger for 2+ years. You can hate Tampa, but they should have had a blogger and the the fact that a team with this much recent success has gone without a voice here says a lot. I'm not bashing Ek just to bash the guy. I just think maybe he's checked out or has other things going on in his life and HB isn't a top priority any more. It wouldn't be surprising for this site to go dark without warning. Thus, the subreddit.

All of you are welcome to participate. The rules are simple.

1) Skalapy is always first. Deal with it.
2) No politics or religion.

#2 is a hard rule - no loosey goosey bullpoop like this site. Nobody wants to hear about Trump, Biden, or whatever political horsepoop is the story of the day. Don't inject that poop into a place to discuss big hats, big caphits, and power play schemes. Unlike the mods here, the ban hammer will be primed and ready - left, right, or middle, I don't care. Check your political talk at the door. It won't be tolerated. If you wanna talk about dumb political poop in a hockey forum, then make your own hockey forum and invite people to it. It's not hard, apparently.

Other than that, chirp each other and have fun. In addition to politics, political correctness is also banned. You can call somebody a retard all you want, but call them a Trumptard or Libtard then you're banned.

Be an bumhole, but be an apolitical bumhole.

GO LEAFS MOTHER(frank)ING GO! (and maybe the Lightning also, but if it's head to head, then it's LEAFS all day).

The end of the world is like a woman in labor.

Don’t harden your hearts like Pharaoh. Don’t participate in the two minutes hate.

Instead, put on your Roddy Piper glasses, eat your red pill and get out of the matrix.

You should discern that the media and government leaders and world bodies have gone full Orwell.

The Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow, respectively, had no courage, heart, or brains. They went to the end of the yellow brick road, pulled back the curtain, learned the truth, and were rewarded with courage, a heart and a brain.

So coming up on the thanksgiving marker time of year. Meaning teams start to look at tinkering. Leafs will need to make a move given Hak and Dewar will be coming in soon. Not to mention Jarnkrok.

So the question becomes who moves out and for what?

For me looks like too two lines are set, so its bolstering bottom lines. McMann - Domi - Jarnkrok doesnt look bad. Dewar - Kampf - Lorentz is ok too. Reaves as spare.

For me I think Holmberg and Robertson should likely get moved. Benning its move or waiver to minors.

Only other one maybe a Jarnkrok or Kampf move too. Which Id think you need a big younger type winger or 3C with some size/grit.

- Roadrunner75

I think - barring a trade that knocks Treliving's socks off - we know who the locks on the roster are - so the guys in danger of being moved or waived would have to be: Myers, Benning, Robertson, Holmberg and Reaves. I may think his time has come and gone, but I think the Leafs value Reaves, so he's probably not on the hottest seat. He hasn't been an absolute liability on the 4th line either, to be fair.

I think Benning and Robertson both have actual trade value - but Robertson, as we discussed in the off-season, just isn't going to meet his expected value. As a 2nd round pick, you'd hope to bring back that same value in a trade, but Robertson has played his way down to a 4th round equivalent value. Benning, I don't know. At the trade deadline he's probably a 4th. Now he's probably a 6th.

Then you have to decide on Jarnkrok, when he's ready - but at least that's a bump down the road that we don't have to deal with now. What if Dewar doesn't fit in? What if Reaves declines more rapidly? What if Holmberg finds his game? Or we could have an injury - it's not like Hakanpaa or Pacioretty have been the healthiest of late. That's a question, if you're Treliving, you answer when you have to.

But right _now_ I don't think the Leafs would consider making any player for player trades - any deal would likely just involve future asset transactions.

Thank you Stoner for setting up the safety net for the inevitable day when suddenly this place becomes inaccessible. I was a member on an internet goalie bulletin board well over 2 decades ago that was an unbelievable collection of knowledge, fun and great people that suddenly went tits up - it was terrible. For anyone here who may have been on it *(I know there are some goalies in here)* is was the old Goalie Store Bulletin Board (GSBB) & I STILL have friends from there I see once a year in July in Rochester.

Anyhow just wanted to say thanks, and also that your rules are fair and needed. Especially rule 2!

I signed up.

Cheers & Go MF Leafs Go!

I am just happy he got over the soft mentality he had on the Habs.

He is hitting guys hard

- Santo_44

Yeah, he was too busy scoring 30+ goals a season on the Habs.

Silly Pacioretty, so soft.

I doubt it would, unless Ek has had enough.

The code base is pretty stable: I haven't seen anything new in years.

And the ads are enough to keep this site afloat, assuming he has a reasonably hosting plan.

He should just syndicate content from MLHS: post a teaser, keep the comments here, but link back to their site for the article.

I mean, I don't think I've read more than 5 or 6 blog posts on here; I go straight to the comments to talk dirty with Zezel.

You wonder how much Ek actually pulls in from this. Seems like he's got a lot of time on his hands to do podcasts that no one watches, so I doubt he's got another full time job.

Good for him to have found a way to remain useful despite not being who he used to be then.

Unlike other Habs fans, I really do wish him the best, he was our best forward for a good 4 years.

Patches was a scoring machine in Montreal, he's now changed his game dramatically it seems and good on him to recognize that he needs to in order to continue his career (at least if he wants to be a Leaf playing for Berube).

He was great for Montreal then in that role and he's been great so far here in his new found role.

He didn't need to play the way he is now when he was a Hab, it wasn't asked nor expected of him so to try and insinuate that he was soft then and suddenly is not is just someone who loves to argue trying to start an argument.

I mean I hate the Habs, (it's just in my DNA - C.Price is the exception) but even I can't look at Patches play when he was a scoring machine and say "ya but he was soft" and think it's a well articulated and scathing burn on him.

To get Hakanpaa and Dewar into the roster they can just dump Benning and Myers. They don't need to sell low on Robertson ...not yet.

He looked 6' 7".

First game in 8 months so I'm sure there is a lot of rust to shake off. Probably he stays down there for a few more games at least.

Sell sooner than later. Better to put it in gold or tangible assets. Stock market is crypto for boomers. Your money is still just digital bits in a database just the same. My two cents, actual worth may be 100 bitcoin or 100 shares of apple, or a carton of cigs and 30 bullets.
