So the Hawks changed the director but forgot the script needed rewriting also.
Blow a 2-1 lead after the second period.
Muster a grand total of 14 shots on goal. (With a minute and a half left).
Looks like new coach bounce lasted one period. - LAHawk

I don’t think two guys who don’t play any defense on the same team would be a good thing. - paulr
Agree, but you think there is a chance Eiserman chases 50 goals in the NHL or he's more like another NDP alum, Wahlstrom, another I missed on.........And it'll be awhile before I give up on Bedard at least getting to the Kane level off the puck.
Never forget watching the NTDP tryout camp on a stream, first time I saw Eiserman. Kid was all motor, backchecking, hair on fire kinda stuff and was really firing the thing. ... Eiserman does have 2 way hockey in his system.

There’s just no compete in this team. Guys aren’t interested in getting involved they want to reach in with their stick and keep their body back as far as possible. Bertuzzi and TT seem to be content picking up a paycheque, Foligno and Maroon are done. The rest are journeymen. The highly competitive guys willing to engage like Boisvert, Vanacker, Dach, Savoie and I understand Moore can’t get into the lineup soon enough, assuming they develop. - paulr
There's plenty of compete in the team. These idiots are trying hard they are just poopty players. I'd argue that most aren't even journeymen.
Hall is obviously trying hard he just sucks. Kurashev too. He's not mailing it in skating hard he is just bad. Foligno isn't very good anymore and Richardinson should be slotted on a 4th line not as your main shut down guy. Donato is not a good hockey player.
Bertuzzi is a poop show.
It's an atrocious forward group. The Russian very bad. I don't care how fast he skates he sucks.
Craig Smith is their best player and at this point I'd run him with TT and Bedard.
San Jose has their guys in the NHL instead of languishing in the AHL. So does Columbus. Doesn't seem to be causing them problems and those are teams moving forward with something to watch not a sinking (frank)ing ship.

If I am doing that Carl’s Jr. would be my choice. |

I was a Boisvert guy even before the draft, and even more now, but I would not have passed on Eiserman. Would you have taken Eiserman? - Mr Ricochet
I like Boisvert's boxing background. Those people are usually smart and have good footwork.
And you can argue best available but Boisvert fills a need position and stature wise as well that Eiserman really doesn't. |

I'd like to see TT get scratched, the guy is absolutely useless right now. At least put Reichel on the top line and see what he can do. D!ckinson centering Bedard and Reichel might be worth a shot. - Dieselhead
It was a nice play on the Vlasic goal that he made... |

Just waive Hall. He is useless. - Elbows15

HF is okay. Pretty good place for prospect info in easy to find threads.
From what I have seen, the advice is to stay off the main board. Much like here, its a cesspool. - Elbows15

Yo Dots, do they seem more connected and passing better? ....... Did not like seeing Soderblom bite, anchor and give Lambert a wide open cage. That's last yr Soderblom.
Vlasic has taken a real jump handling the puck. Kid is calmer, cleaner and more poised with the thing. - Mr Ricochet
I didn't get a chance to watch the game, i hope it's something they work on, In my humble opinion as a team they need to work on keeping possession. When i count over 10 times in one period they are just happy to get it out of the zone and give up possession that's loser hockey to me. |

Can’t have a possession game if you don’t have the puck. I want to see more compete, more fighting for possession winning more puck battles and less reaching for the puck trying to avoid any physical contact. Then they can work on a possession game. I’m dying to see some of the prospects in a Hawk sweater. |

Man, that 22 yr old Neighbors kid outa STL is a real piece of work and if he were in a Bruins uniform you'd think it was Marchand. Kid scored 27 goals last yr and the 21 yr old and irritated every opponent he's played against....... Little dude ain't scared to be a net front guy and take the abuse. He seems to thrive on getting clubbed around.
Paul, I know you've watched a lotta Scheafer going back to last yr. Caught him the other night and immediately thought the kid had a 2-3 inch growth spurt. He's putting on some size but looks as fluid as ever.
I'm very close to planting a flag on Spellacy's compete. Kid just loves to compete and most games he's the fastest kid on the ice. If he keeps that motor and compete he'll develop nicely.. Kid showing he's a quick learner as he choked up on his stick to play a bouncing puck in traffic.
Guess I've bounced around a good bit but I gotta say Saskatoon is the best team I've seen. 6-7 NHL draft picks and this squad really competes. As good a watch at any level. .. As of today I really hope Saskatoon represents the WHL in the Memorial Cup playoffs.
Anyone know who took over in RKF after Sorensen went to the Hawks? I haven't seen any reporting on that.
Windsor looked good in their shootout loss to Kitchner. Two good clubs gave the fans a good one and Oshawa travels to Windsor tomorrow in another clash of clubs at the top of the league.
Every time I watch RKF I have to remind myself that Dach is 6ft 4in. Kid moves well, like a 6 footer, but never seems to impact a game despite 17 in 21.
And again, every time I see RKF I like Hayes more and more. Kid is still cruising, head up, unhurried and his skating looks stronger. This kid has the look and always has and although he's got only 4 pts in you'd never know it watching a Hogs game as he seems to make himself dangerous often enough.
I'd add KK looks very comfortable in the AHL. He's more confident and poised and as a result he seems to play much freer and with his skating and good hands he seems to be in the perfect spot to develop properly. ....... He is a team 2nd worst plus minus to Sanford though with 11 in 21.
I have to agree with you guys who watch a lotta Hogs, they do play an upbeat quick fun brand.
Yo Paul, Hogs played Hartford and I caught 2 periods. And I'll be damned 6ft 7in 6th rd pick by NYR Roobroek was on the Hartford squad and played center. He looked like he was keeping up with a fast Hog's pace. He has 10 pts in 22 games.
Phillips seems better in the NHL than the AHL.
I didn't realize Slaggert was a 3rd rd pick. Thought he was a 5th-6th rounder.... I do think he'll be a useful NHL bottom 6 guy somewhere.
Phillips and Nazar are the only Hogs on the plus side of plus minus. Phillips a +5 and Nazar a plus 1..... Nazar is starting to remind me of Michkov off the puck rarely missing a chance to be dangerous. High IQ players. Gonna be real interesting whenever he gets called up. |

So Mrazek and Brossoit are both out, do they bring up Commesso or do they pick up a tender on waivers so Commesso can continue to develop in Rockford. If Martinez goes on IR, do they bring up KK or Phillips? |
