Every day I get to the rink (too much magic bust
Sit in the seat to watch you stink (too much magic bust
I’m so nervous I just sit and cry ( too much magic bust
Korbustsky was drafted why oh why (too much magic bust
Damn you Kyle for getting him here (too much magic bust
He’s a bust have no fear (too much magic bust
I don’t want to cause a fuss ( too much magic busy
But why did you draft the magic bust |

If they are playing 2 1 2 it does make sense to have Mikheyev on his line he's one of the better puck hounds on the team. - BetweenTheDots
You make a good point.

I think I can explain the 98, 23, and 95 line - but do it in the context of the board narrative... it makes perfect sense (to a point), as 23 brings nothing defensively to that line (arguably, not much offensively either -not this season), and if 95 brings nothing offensively to that line -- there you go, that's the Ying-Yang of your balance.
Ok - I got nothing...leastwise, no explanation for that. |

Well done
Sounded like a Norm MacDonald joke
Rags lose again, any chance they send Kakko packing for some sort of a return for a veteran d man with a lower cap hit?
Murphy for Kakko?
In other news,I believe Seth Jones was skating today. |

They are making Sorenson's debut look pretty good in comparison. |

At least we don't have to worry about Thomas Brown getting the job because of a short good bump..............

Been watching prevent defense now for 38 years. If Poles hires the next head coach and they continue to play this prevent defense, then I'll have to let this team go since the McCaskeys are the ones hiring their type of head coach every time. |

Que Nazar getting a promotion soon - BetweenTheDots
Commesso took Andersen's spot, no? They'd have to make another move to bring Nazar up, no?
Either way things are about to get real. I don't care about any fancies you'd have to see Mrazek since he was a Hawk to know just how damn good this guy's been and the only reason they have not been an AHL level squad getting pounded every single night.
Now, he goes down along with their best Dman in Martinez with their #1 TOI Dman having been out for weeks. ..... And the solid choice for backup/tandem goalie in Broisett hasn't dressed this yr.
And, you have a brand new coach who is barking about opening their game up which will cause trading chances at best.
Que Soderblom. And Commesso, who has never made an NHL start and is having his worst ever season. ........ Soderblom has more or less defied physics in his complete 180 since a horrid, terrible yr last yr. Well, this new found solid play is gonna be tested, tested in a way the last yr and 25 games that only a few goalies could have withstood and Mrazek is one of them and he's on the shelf with a groin that could be a season long thing. With young and rookie Dmen strewn throughout and new systems that opens the game up that the club will be asked to learn as they go.
This could get very very ugly, quick.

His pace this year is slightly better than a PPG. Levshunov was just under a ppg but that was as a true freshman.
Little bit different circumstances. Like Levshunov coming here with just a duffel bag - having an income was probably a bit more of a priority.
Anyway - Rinzel is about on pace with Buium, not quite on pace with someone like Luke Hughes but pretty close to Quinn.
Point totals aren't everything but defenders that seem to put them up as freshmen and sophomores like he is are typically productive NHL players straight away.
He's probably a player to get excited about. Which is why when you look at that right side and you see Jones, Murphy over there - really quickly it's going to be Levshunov and Rinzel. They already have Vlasic, Kaiser and Allen on the other side sooooo something probably has to give there and relatively quickly.
I'd assume Brodie is Murphy insurance but it's gonna get pretty crowded pretty quickly across that whole blue line. - fattybeef
Rinzel, Leveshunov, Korchinski
Allen, Vlasic, Kaiser
That is six defenders without a lot of experience
Crevier and DelMastro as depth could be ok.
First immediate concern is all that inexperience. And is thus group possibly together as soon as next season, or the season after next?
Well as for the back ups, Crevier and DelMastro have enough pro experience and probably would not be a weakness. Both play a style which is conducive to just getting the job done- safe not turnover machines. And while neither is a great puck mover, they are not bad either - capable is a term I would say could fit
Nonetheless the entire group does lack experience but I bet KD and his coach want to just go with them anyway.. It is time to let the kids play and they stay unless there is obviously too much mistakes and overwhelmed
The mandate to win coming from the owner, however, makes going with so much youth on defense a choice which might now be disciple to a change in plan
Part of the success the dmen experience may still be aided by the help from the forwards.
The forwards need to be responsible although overplaying defensively by forwards as a way to help the defensemen could have a different look under Sorenson or a new coach
So this mandate to win more is not lost upon KD as he will definitely make a splash trying to improve the quality of forwards on the roster
As much as KD may want each of a young group on the blueline play together in the NHL, you have to question whether one of them might be traded insofar as to bring a quality forward who fits in a top six role (no question about the fit as there is with TT and Bertuzzi).
All I can envision short term is a couple veterans moving out at trade deadline and Nazar gets a trial in top six
Post season KD will make some moves but does it involve moving a young dman through trade? We have to think this might be a realistic outcome |

Yeah was thinking the same thing. I know there has been some kicking around the idea of trading for a coach like Shanahan. Whether it happens or not I think he presented a pretty argument for it today. |

Larkin asking for a trade? He's tired of playing for a team in an endless rebuild. That leaves Chicago out as a trade partner. See Detroit blog comment page. |

This is something KD has to juggle along with possible attendance issues. As Rico says, GMing is hard.
I never thought the great Yzerman would make mistakes. |

That was the news report given in media reports and mentioned in at least one post on this site. Danny Wurtz is wants a full house and better record, winning more
Obviously the TT and Bertuzzi add isn’t good enough because they haven’t been able to be top line producers and no one presently is working out with Bedard. Going to have to draft a top five maybe it will be top three forward and either sign free agent or trade for a definite L2 forward. Bedard has to be producing points. Nazar could help but need at least one preferably two top line forwards for next season A few more wins and some young kids breaking in, should be encoursging |
