The "Nazar at wing" experiment has begun.
Ben Pope:
Bertuzzi - Bedard - Nazar
Dach - Reichel - Foligno
TT - D!ckinson - Mikheyev
Hall - Donato - Maroon
Martinez Jones
Vlasic Crevier
Allan Brodie
extra: Kurashev, Kaiser
If he wasn't coming out for Brodie, I wouldn't mind Kaiser watching. He's been really tentative with the puck on his stick, leading to bad icings and turnovers. Obviously, you want him to play through that, but it's been getting worse lately. Too bad Murphy is hurt. - Chunk
Yes to the forwards. Reichel with big wingers to do dirty work for him. Bedard gets Nazar to motor around with. Can try Nazar at center next year. Let him get cooking with Bedard (hopefully).
I am excited about the top 2 lines.

I’d gladly be the writer if it got us below 173 pages. Don’t know how Ek would contact me, but everyone is welcome to read my weekly posts about the possession black hole of Connor Murphy. |

Was looking through the list of UFAs last night. Marner and Rantanen are probably out.
Boeser, Ehlers, and Bennett seem to fit (late 20s, good scoring). After that not a lot else that seems like a good fit.
What are some others (UFA or RFA)? - totem
There are a few:
Roslovic
Greenway (if they want some beef that can at least skate)
Fabbri
Olofsson
The RFA offer sheet route will be tougher to maneuver this offseason wit hthe cap going up unless some team puts itself in a bad position.
There will likely be plenty of trade opportunities though. I'd still consider a guy like Norris, or Frost. |

Are any of these guys better than Donato?, Hall? Appears all you are doing is rearranging the chairs on the deck of a sinking boat.

Just heard Hawks finalizing a trade (don't get excited):
Isaak Phillips for Dmitry Kuzmin. AHL for AHL. - Chunk
Not too shocking. Phillips was like 18th on the depth chart these days for Dmen. |

Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall on seeing his name in trade rumors. "We'll see what happens. I came into this year wanting to continue to be a Blackhawk for years to come. I don't know if that's going to be the case anymore. I'll leave that door open for sure."

I was asked if anyone outside of Rantanen, Marner, Ehlers, Boeser and Bennet is worth looking at, and I listed some guys that were. The Hawks could certainly have a shot at one of these.
If the Hawks are signing guys to fill out a roster but not necessarily be around for the long haul, the ones I mentioned are certainly better than Maroon, and Smith. I'd argue Roslovic is better than Hall
I'd think the Hawks could do something more drastic via trade. |

Kuzmin is Belarusian. Soul mate for Levshunov. |

Phillips doesn’t have much value, however why not trade for a lottery pick forward vs a smallish defenseman that’s put up 11 points in 58 AHL games. I just noticed that he’s from Belarus, so maybe a roommate for Levshunov in Rockford? Who knows… |

here is what I saw.

Maybe Roslovic on a two year deal, other than that not much to speak of in that group. Hope everything is okay LA. |

They wanted to give Levshunov a roommate that can get him to meetings on time. |

Evacuations where I live were lifted. I am one of the lucky ones, just have to deal with bad air for awhile.

With this type of comment, there is no way there is any good chemistry in the room right now. May be time to quit bringing in vets that still want to win. Can't see how this is building the "culture" that KD wants. We suck regardless, might as well play the kids. |

Can't play all kids for no other reason that you need to reach the cap floor.,

Obviously, it's devastating to see the situation in CA, but it is good to hear you are alright LA. |

Well, if KD retains 50% on Seth for the rest of his contract... |

Thanks Chunk. Not that fires are preventable, but the devastation/destruction was made so much worse due to a shocking failure of government leadership.

Speaking of which... I've read several people saying Dallas is looking for a top four defenseman. I know we are all crapping on him, but it seems NHL FO's are not completely down on him.
Jones to Dallas for Dumba? maybe a prospect in there? I have no idea what a deal would look like but might work.

It sounds relatively easy (especially looking at Minny right now), but I really don't think KD would be willing to eat that hit ($8M through the 2029-30 season and then $1M after that for 5 years).
Maybe the new CBA will bring some new contract options? |

You don't think someone will take him half retained in exchange for "future considerations?" Where he'd waive, of course. |
