Missed the 1st but the 2nd was very pleasing to the eye. Lotta pace, few whistles... You watch this forechecking/skating/activate Dmen/attacking style that leaves a lotta open ice off the puck you'd think this style would fit Jones like a glove but he's basically stunk under Sorensen. Of course you need to keep your feet moving to fit any system but you'd think this one would excite Jones .. He is a tad slow in the head hockey wise, maybe he hasn't figured out the system?

Well Bedard with another skill guy that can skate is fun to watch. Nazar’s energy is contagious. Bedard playing with more energy.
He’s even playing down low in the D zone a bit - bhawks2241
Not sure what the fancy stats say,but they seem to be buzzing quite a bit.
Dach looks engaged too.
Hopefully Ders keeps Nazar with Bedard for the next few games to see if they click |

This is probably the 5th game in a row where I've seen Bedard below both endlines on the same shift. Over a yr and 40ish games and I never saw that once until a few games ago. Some kinda switch turned on for Bedard and his feet are playing a 200 ft game.
But yea man, put some speed and skill with Bedard and it is damn fun to watch.

Even Jone's mom was complaining about Jones not moving his feet on a mom's trip.

Let your mind wander and think what this group will look like 4-5 yrs from now the way KD has drafted skating and speed. How bout Moore and or Lardis, Spellacy, Lev, KK kinda guys that are coming thru the system. These guys are built to play fast.
Yea, they're buzzing for sure. ......

He has played under Trotz and Tort’s, quite opposite of what Sorenso’s system appears to be. |

Soderblom is dialed in, square to not only the puck but the possibilities. quiet and quick..... The transformation of this guy in one year is absolutely crazy.
Bedard was in a physical puck battle along the wall that if he had some support Hawks woulda won that puck. |

It will allow Bedard to be deeper in the defending zone and can hit Nazar on the fly. Nazar should get a lot of break aways - wizardofi
They look pretty good together on the forecheck too. Nazar is going to be a good NHLer. Just going to have to wait and see what his ceiling is scoring wise.
Prob could end up on the PK. Winning board battles and using his speed to disrupt plays. |

She shoulda started complaining to the kid when he was 6 and he'd be a legit #1 Dman... Like anyone else here, including the Hawks, I have no answers for Jones.

Imagine a real top line forward that can skate with Bedard and Nazar.
Edit: seeing that generational bedard talent flashing. His play making and awareness. |

Man Bedard with another great pass, i have to admit the kids seem to bring some good energy. Just keep playing them. |

Poor Nazar can't buy a goal. Tons of grade A's though. |

But at least the speed of the game isn't an issue for him. I think it's just a matter of time.
That was a beaut of a pass across the crease unfortunately the defenseman made a good play. |

D!ckinson just sucks tonight. So unlike him. He's turned it over a bunch of times and put the puck into unnecessary traffic a ton. |

He should be a lot better than AA. Just needs some time to work on his finish

Man that sucks. Get caught sleeping one time and the whole game changes.
Good:
Nazar-Bedard-Bert line.
Jones (Yeah, I said it)
Reichel
Soda
Bad:
D!ckinson
Vlasic (not horrible, but he has 2-3 bad brain farts per game recently)
Foligno
Maroon

Yeah, I think he'll be really good. Reminds me of the year that ADB couldn't buy a goal. Sure wasn't for lack of trying or his chances. |

Nice game by Soda - BetweenTheDots
He was dialed in, played well and gave the team a chance to win. What a solid year it's been for him individually. Not perfect but he has been fairly consistent.
Jones dug in after that bad game and played pretty well tonight.
Nazar, Bedard and Bertuzzi all played well most shifts, Nazar close to scoring multiple times. |

Ya, or Saad when he started his career. You could see the ability but didn't get a goal until his superman goal

My mind is wandering why Slaggert isn’t playing bottom six on the Hawks, hopefully they move one of the vets soon. |

Hadn't thought about that but you'd think a 10 yr NHL vet could adapt as quickly as say, Crevier? I doubt it but if he's behind the curve of this system maybe he becomes consistently useful...... I would point out he came outa the NTDP in some of his formative yrs and they never change, they play fast and skilled decade after decade.

Count me in, Lou. Slaggert has a high IQ that might slip by cuz he plays a bottom 6 role but this kid makes plays in all 3 zones, high motor, can skate a bit, ain't scared with decent size.
Maybe after the TDL?
