Dreger reports the Hawks are getting calls about Seth Jones: https://www.msn.com/en-us...a3a8937b26c6ab34cbe&ei=14 - Mr Ricochet
I'll drive 3 days from California, just to spend an extra 30 minutes crawling down Mannheim road with Seth in the back to get him on a plane ASAP. |

D!ckenson is a money in the bank 3C, but he's not as effective this yr as much as last. Been a few games this yr I thought he was really ineffective. - Mr Ricochet
The season can wear into Richardenson(s) , the Hall's, the Donato's, and Kurashev(s), season competition wears on them and thus their line play is staggeringly flat in the course of the entertainment season, prior to Lord Stanley's Cup, so you see glimpses of the said l PLAYER where their play is ' money' but, also out-of-sync, disconnected from the on-ice opportunities, eg.,not clicking with efforts in scoring chances, or their on ice - tempo, whether they stop taking up the challenge to be connected to scoring & ending opposition scoring, but with intense interest of being really good at what they are doing out there.
So, I think each's reason is a player is ineffective.
Once each season's on ice lessons & added experiences to hone their game so when the Cup is on the line, you are searchng for them, they are part of your (the player) game. That why teams have vets to lead.
Maybe, when you got them to sign, you hope that the addedvets are going to lead to many more wins, but it doesn't mean that they will add many wins...maybe the emphasis on the youth calls, the those vets imprint on what starts to be a core and culture.
I think, #8, 17, 16, 71, 77 up front and the seasoned backline day to day routines of #25, teach that present roster how to be players and pros. Every slump, pitfall, encyclopedias of on-ice experience and the behaviors- each Blackhawk youngster star can add to their game as learning the path comes before any Stanley Cup.

I read a story about Colorado and Rantanen talks breaking down. Avs don't want to sign him for more than McKinnon's 12.6M, but Rantanen looking for Draisaitl like 14M. So it would probably take 13.75M to 14.25M to lure him away as a free agent. |

He's not coming to Chicago unless they overpay imo 14.5 million x 7. Now uf Hawks can unload Jones contract may be retain 2 million per year to get it done. Then there might be a chance to get rantanen |

Even if Jones remains, they’ll have over $40 mil in cap space. Give Rantanen whatever he wants so this rebuild can turn the corner. |

Well i think a fair contract is about $13 per. Draisaitl has outperformed him offensively in every category.
Anything over that is an overpay, but maybe the Avs are backloading the contract, the Blackhawks could front load the contract as much is legally possible in the CBA, if the CBA has a rule on it.
A financial truth is the money you get today is way more valuable than tomorrow. |

I know it's basketball but it sure has some similarities to what the Blackhawks are doing.
I will say if KD can unload Seth Jones to a team without it costing the Blackhawks in any substantial way then i believe he is the man for the job. |

I was at the Gens Bulldogs game last night. Lardis didn’t play so I focused on Vanacker. This kid is a beast. Cal Ritchies who’s taller and at least 20 lbs heavier tried to ride him out along the boards. Vanacker gave Ritchie a forearm shiver and put him down on his ass.
I’ve been watching this afternoon’s rematch and Lardis is back. He just scored a nice goal showing his skating ability annd incredible shot. That’s 35 on the year. He also got an assist earlier in the game. He also leads the OHL with 5.8 shots on goal per game. |

Great update. Thanks!
Is Lardis putting on any weight? He looks a little thicker in the highlights I've seen.

Lardis scored an empty net goal and was first star. Vanacker scored a power play goal. Lardis had eight shots on goal.
I can’t tell if Lardis has put on weight? I’ve seen him live four times this season. He’s definitely stronger and more involved in the play. His game offensively revolves around finding open ice and pushing the pace to force defensemen to back deep and not be able to slow him down. One unfortunate thing this year is he’s not playing on the PK as much as last season. |

Can’t wait to see Vanacker, Boisvert, Spellacy, and others in the Indian head. They’ll probably not end up as elite players, however I’m hoping they at least help fill out a contending roster. They’ll need one more stud up front, it doesn’t matter how they acquire him, whether it’s through the draft, free agency, or trade. Hoping for a good game tonight. |

It has to be done this way. And this won't be the last chance to unload Jones. |

Once you figure out "fair," that is just the starting point for Chicago. Fair won't get it done.

The thing is i like the approach, i know when i say this the players get compared to Stalberg or Skille, but they draft guys with a ton of speed in the 3rd round they give themselves a real chance to find a difference maker. Even if none of them are i have a feeling a few of them will be quality NHL players which is not a bad thing. |

You tell me which deal would you sign
$45 mil signing bonus, $6.5 mil for 7 years
$13 mil each year for 7 years?
There's ways to make a contract more attractive with the same AAV

Can't give a guy 45M up front in a 91M contract. There's a rule out there somewhere about the way total $$$ are distributed throughout the term. Something like no more than a 25% difference year to year. So for a 7 year, 91M total, the AAV is 13M. The annual amount extremes would be something like 15,15.15, 13, 11,11,11. Don't hold me to the exact amounts. |

Gotta love a quick twitch athlete. When the kid is right he's, and his kind, a beauty to watch....... Gotta admit when I saw him penciled in at 3C I thought, WTF!!.. 2 periods to go though.

I'm ok with any shot that don't hit the goalie in the chest, but yea man, low shots work. That's where rebounds come from. ......... You can see Sorensen is in the Dmen's ear to just shoot. Crevier don't think twice, Jones never did, Martinez get's his thru, ditto Vlasic.

I don't have the volume on but was wondering about the Bertuzzi goal? So if it's a shot on net you can put your skate up to try to deflect it in for a goal? |
