Gotta love a quick twitch athlete. When the kid is right he's, and his kind, a beauty to watch....... Gotta admit when I saw him penciled in at 3C I thought, WTF!!.. 2 periods to go though. - Mr Ricochet
It’s actually quite frustrating when you see that level of skill and speed. Shielded the puck too.
And then you watch him float around 70% of the time doing nothing. |

Lol let’s see if Vegas decides to push back. They did play last night in Carolina. - bhawks2241
Vegas definitely won't go quietly. The Hawks have struggled with playing a full 60 minute effort, so hard to feel comfortable with the lead IMO. |

I don't have the volume on but was wondering about the Bertuzzi goal? So if it's a shot on net you can put your skate up to try to deflect it in for a goal? - BetweenTheDots
They can deflect it in all day with the skates as long as they don't make a distinct kicking motion to propel it in.

Not surprised they gave Nolan Allan the night off, he has been going through the tough middle stretch of a rookie season.
So far in 2025 his stat line GP7, G0, A2 P2 -6 in about 15 minutes a night.
Hawks only have 4 plus players in that stretch though, Nazar +3, Teravinen +2, Foligno +1, Jones +1.
He is working hard but a rookie season on a rebuilding team is tough. |

Big fan of the low shots against. - mohel
Just like last game, held the opponent to 5 shots on goal in the first, and then they get bombarded with shots in the second. |

If that Nazar kid can play with that same energy every shift of every game he's going to be a really good hockey player. |

It is frustrating but there is a silver lining

He’s a hound, sooner or later he’s going to put some points up. Good to see the German score as well. |

How about your favorite defenseman with three points, adding to his trade value. |

The sooner the better
Vlasic and Crevier out there for the stupid penalty Maroon took.
Crevier has looked good the more he's played |

Pretty stupid. He doesn’t do much except skate in big wide slow circles. |

Didn't get to watch the game.
Did Ders break up the Bedard Bert Nazar line? Or did they play together the entire game? |

They were together the whole game for the most part, sometimes separated due to special teams. |

Not that i saw, Nazar and Bedard are starting to look good already, 2 on 1 if Nazar got it up another 6 inches he and Bedard have a 2 point night.

Just saw a highlight or two.
Seems like they were both close to having nice goals but couldn't finish.
At least the line is generating chances, for the 2nd game in a row, and this time against a pretty good Vegas team |

Get a big 30-40 goal scorer with those two and that’s a real nice nucleus of young forwards.
Bertuzzi is a nice fit with them but he kills
more than a few plays by fumbling the puck or not moving his feet. He’s been buzzing though. Real pest when he can stay on his feet. |

I will always say best available at the draft but you gotta wonder how Martone would look on a line with Bedard and Nazar.
Nazar has got that puck hound in him like Hagel, but i think with better passing and shot. |

For future reference - when it comes to the IIHF - their rule, though (they changed it a couple years back) - it can't hit off of your skate at all - distinct kicking motion is irrelevant in international hockey governed matches like world juniors, the olympics, et al ... different from the NHL.
Apparently I should be doing other stuff for more games- I missed it - checked in on the score a couple of times - nice result against another good team.

It was a fun game to watch. This team is so Jeckyl and Hyde. If they can keep playing like this they could make some noise, or at least troll a lot of teams

I do hope the Blackhawks win more games, looking at the standings it really is a 2 team race for the worst record in the league and honestly i think it's good for the Blackhawks rebuild to get a top 4 pick especially in this draft.
Trade and sign or free agency get a top 6 younger forward, and somehow someway trade Seth Jones away with maybe retaining a little cash would be a great way to go into the next season. |

Funny thing is we could be a better team after the trade deadline with a couple of Freezerpigs coming up.

Can't give a guy 45M up front in a 91M contract. There's a rule out there somewhere about the way total $$$ are distributed throughout the term. Something like no more than a 25% difference year to year. So for a 7 year, 91M total, the AAV is 13M. The annual amount extremes would be something like 15,15.15, 13, 11,11,11. Don't hold me to the exact amounts. - boilermaker100
I found this on puck pedia
Front-Loaded Contract Variability
-The difference between compensation in any year and the year immediately before or after cannot exceed 25% of compensation in Year 1 of the contract
-Compensation in any year cannot be less than 60% of the highest compensation year
I'm to tired to do the math but they could actually front load the contract to the max, but have to keep it to the 60% difference allowed.
Okay i tried i guess they could do something like 18, 16, 14, 12, 11, 11, 11. Which equals 93 instead of 91 but i tried to stay inside the 60%rule |
