Going out on a limb here .... inserting Kurashev is probably a bad choice ... yeh I know -- it is risky for me to say that.
His effort in that Detroit game- that should have ended his NHL career in Chicago - and resulted in a call up of -basically, anyone, from Rockford. Putting that guy back in there with his effort - which was akin to a confused 4 year old in his first scrimmage in a learn to play clinic ... in Australia (ffs) ... is a crap example of accountability - now it is a crap example of management accountability too. Nicely done mgt.

Boiler is the man! By the way, Bertuzzi and Nazar are switching sides on Bedard’s line tonight, Nazar will be on left wing. Not sure what to make of this, hey, Maybe Boiler knows. - Angotti

Per Tab at Bleacher Nation:
You’ll also note the coaches are swapping Frank Nazar and Tyler Bertuzzi to the opposite wings from where they started last game. Interim head coach Anders Sorensen said this morning that line will flow with the game but they like that they can both play either side. |

It's not just how guys are playing. In theory, sure they could have put him on waivers and sent him down, but they already have AA down there, and I'm guessing they want to make sure that the kids get all the minutes.
The only other way to take him out would be to run 11F 7D. This team can barely put a few games together using their expected lineup. I don't think that's something they should try unless there is no other option.
Maybe he sees Reichel, Nazar, Dach, and Bedard playing hard and something takes off with him, but either way, when Smith or Maroon are healthy again, he'll be back out. |

Europeans wingers play their off wing allot to have their stick in position for one timers. There are things to compensate on defensively when playing offwing. Bedard being a right shot don’t be surprised to see Nazar get a ton of chances to one timers passes on net. |

Obviously Nazar is out of his right hand sticks and Bertuzzi his left hand sticks. |

@RussoHockey
Hearing former #mnwild assistant GM Chris O'Hearn has been hired as VP of hockey operations with the #blackhawks to work with GM Kyle Davidson and his front office.
Really happy to see O'Hearn back in the NHL. An attorney, O'Hearn's expertise is contract negotiations and CBA.
Not sure if this is a + or a -
Still good to have someone outside of the organization to come in and maybe give their 2 cents..? Or is he strictly a numbers guy? |

Seems like he left the Wild under a cloud of mystery.
Wednesday’s departure of assistant GM Chris O’Hearn only adds to the feeling of chaos and panic, and not just because of the unanswered questions about the justification for his dismissal, which team sources tell The Athletic came on the heels of multiple investigations into Wild executives by an outside firm commissioned by the organization. |

From a Bamford article. O'Hearn left the Wild in December 2023, mutually parting ways it says.

To me, VP of Hockey Op seems like a lofty title for a guy if he's only a cap guru. That title is for a person above the GM position. Time for KD to look over his shoulder as dahawks1889 posted recently? |

I'm with the group that thinks as soon as Kyle fired Luke, his GM hourglass started as well. Not sure how much time he has.
Sounds like VP Ops is a position above him,but I was more wondering if O'Hearn is some sort of hockey mind etc...or just a cap cruncher.
I know I've read or listened to a podcast at a few different places where they weren't thrilled with Kyle being GM since he was already in house. Some people would have preferred someone outside the organization for a fresh view etc... |

Firing the GM before many of his draft picks turn pro is a good way to end up in a perpetual rebuild.
KD has at least two years before his seat gets warm. |

Up to this point, I’m okay with what Davidson has done with the rebuild, however having an experienced resource in the house is a plus, especially with contracts and maybe even trades. That being said, KD did a nice job with Vlasic’s extension. |

Hopefully not. KFC has a plan in place obviously not quick enough for some. A new GM probably brings in a new mindset and who knows what that may entail? |

Really getting tired of the vets in this team. Brodie shouldn’t be on the ice. Watching Hall and Donato run around the D zone like they have no idea how to play hockey. Is Kurashev out on the pk? |

Didn’t mind the shot. Bertuzzi lead the league in losing an edge? |

Good for Kurashev
I know he's done as a Blackhawk, but he made a nice play to score and Donato's pass was on the money. |

IMO KD getting ready for Bedard’s extension, and negotiating with free agents.
Plus with Eaton in Rockford, the Hawks front office is pretty thin. |

I’d like to see him play hard to make it difficult to let him go. |
